How to Register Covid-19 Vaccines Issued Abroad in the Al Hosn App

The UAE now accepts Covid-19 vaccine certificates issued abroad, and here's how to register it in your Al Hosn App account

Here's how people can register Covid-19 vaccination certificates issued overseas.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) announced that individuals can register certificates for approved Covid-19 vaccines taken outside the UAE via the Smart app or the smartservices.ica.gov.ae, reported uaebarq.

Once registered, the same information will also appear in your Al Hosn app account.

Which Covid-19 vaccines are eligible?

The following vaccines, if received outside of the UAE, will be considered:

  1. AstraZeneca, or Covishield
  2. Moderna
  3. Sinopharm, or Sinovac
  4. Pfizer
  5. Sputnik

Those who successfully complete the process and are able to get their certificates approved in the UAE will be able to enjoy the same benefits as those that got their vaccines in the emirates.

How to register a Covid-19 vaccine certificate issued overseas

1. Visit the ICA Smart Services portal.

Login or register on the ICA Smart Services website, HERE.

You can also login using your 'UAE Pass', or use the ICA smart app.

2. Complete the form online.

Register and complete the 'Register Arrivals' form and upload a copy of your Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued abroad.

You will receive an SMS and a download link for the Al Hosn app.

3. Receive your number.

Once you arrive in the UAE, temporary visitors will get a Unified Identification Number (UID) either at the airport or through the ICA website or smart app.

4. Register your Al Hosn account.

Sign up on Al Hosn using the UID and the phone number you used on your 'Register Arrivals' form, or the number you used when taking a PCR test in the emirates.

You will receive a one-time passcode (OTP) to complete the Al Hosn registration process.

Once signed up successfully, you'll be able to check your Covid-19 health status, vaccine information, PCR test results, etc.
