Today I am sickened, I dropped my Rolex and shattered the crystal face. Does anyone know of a high quality watch repair place I can take it to get it fixed? I read a thread that mentioned Cara in Gold and Diamond Park. Any opinions on it or other other suggestions and experiences on watch repair to share? What should I expect in terms of pricing, negotiating and the sales pitch? Thanks so much!

I haggled my service down to Dh1,000 (Deira City Centre) and that was in October. They polished it up really good, in fact perhaps I got a new face too!!! It looks swell. Is that what they call upgrading your Karama special?;) Ha ha, can you imagine taking a fake into a Rolex store? Hilarious.

Dh was quoted 5000 aed for a new face, took it back to the uk and got it done there instead. Much cheaper I was quoted 6000 for a new face. When did you get a quotation? Im thinking of getting a new face in Singapore. Apparently its more affordable.

I second taking it to the rolex store - mine apparently went to switzerland for what was needed doing.....A work colleague of DH (who has lived here 25 years and a watch "collector") said not to go anywhere else as switching movements is common problem here.

Do they have the clean up & maintenance service as well or do they ship your Rolex to Switzerland as they do in Europe (and it costs a whole lot more than 1500 Dhs...)? TIA

I think any they are the same thing as the Ahmed Siddiqi branches are branded as Rolex. I paid AED 1500 too and the service included a new glass. They scrub up well after service!

We have used Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons (through the Rolex shop at MoE) for watch servicing before -- they were fast and professional and their workshop is here in Dubai with trained staff so the watch doesn't need to leave the country to be fixed.

Take it only to Dubai Mall or MOE both Rolex shops! New glass cost you about 1500 dhs I guess!

Ahmed Siddiqui are the agents and they do repairs and servicing. There is also a branch in Mall of the Emirates upstairs.

Take it to the Rolex shop in Dubai Mall, last thing you want to do is have it done cheaply and they switch your watch or similar.
