Kittens and adult cats often pad with their paws in a rhythmic fashion to "let milk down" My 4 year old cat did it on my chest then fell asleep!!! Maybe babypuss is just looking for comfort following his feed so I'd do as SueB suggests. You're his mum for the time being!!!
Yes, he does that too, especially on one of my dd t-shirts so it's his now. But this is different. It's like he is looking for a way to get inside my hand. He pushes his nose into it really hard and grabs my hand with his claws and tries to climb on it, or climb around it. It really hurts, my hands are covered in tiny scratches.
I just tried the hotpack and it made a bit of a difference. He was calmer and did not scratch for about 10 seconds. Then he started again. When I put him in his bed, he fell asleep right away on top of the hotpack. Normally he keeps crying until I leave the room. So that's an improvement!
Can imagine that it hurts, their wee claws and teeth are like needles aren't they? Am sure he'll settle down once he realises that you are his source of food and comfort. Maybe you could invest in some think gloves for your poor hands? :) Good grief THICK gloves even. I really must wear my specs when I'm typing!!

well, keep at it :)...for the 1st 2 months most of my FF babies sleep in their cages with the door off, hot water bottle under in a towel and rolled up towels around the edge and I make a donut shape with the towels, they sleep quite happily in there. Once I pop them in, I dont hear a peep, I also put over the cage, a towel to make it all dark over the cage. Bianca, if when you feed him, 1st put the little towel around his neck then around his body so he cannot get his paws on you but can knead the towel or wrap a towel around your hand with your fingers out to hold the bottle.....he is pushing your hand as Joyce says to bring more milk....it is what they do, he might not want more but it is comforting for him. Just make a cocoon in his cage that is nice and warm and he might settle :)

maybe it is comfort he is looking for? when babies finish eating from their mother they stay in the warmth of her body and go to sleep. You could try warming up a blanket and wrapping it around him while feeding and when he is finished leave the nipple in his mouth. the warmth of the blanket might comfort him. Also if you are still putting a hot water bottle in his bed? do this so it is nice and warm and toasty after his feed.
I am fostering a 4 week old kitten, for a little over a week now. He is doing great, drinking milk from the bottle, started walking a few days ago, using the litter box. There is one thing I do not understand; after I fed him, he tries to climb on the bottle, using all the strength (and his really sharp nails) he has. If I put the bottle away, he pushes his nose in my hand while using his claws to climb on top of it and crying loudly. If I offer him the bottle, he refuses. There is nothing I can do to stop him, except walk away. It's almost impossible to play with him or cuddle because of this. Does someone know why is does this?
