This may sound as strange as DubaiCat's upside down bicycle but I was told to take robutussin cough syrup. If you google it you'll find the whole pregnancy thing. One person I know swears by it. cough syrup that contains guaifenesin as the active ingredient will give you more EWCM as does eating lots of fresh grapefruit!! I wouldn't wait a day and a half inbetween attempts, once you know you're in your fertile period I would do it as often as you can both manage!! good luck.

Hi LIL, sorry you are feeling sad :( we had some problems too before our first one. long story short - at the end after all the doctor visits and so on end so on..... it turns out that the biggest problem was the mental state of both of us :) after some time we decided that it's just not happening and we gave up, at least for some time..... and tataaaaa :) when my LO was 1 I found one article that was explaining how stress affects all in your body and when you desire something very so much.... this is stress... :) it kinda made sense for me after all the "why.... and so on..." one month after I made myself not to think about this and just leave it in peace..... there it was :) it's not exactly medical solution, but it may work for you too. being relaxed and happy is very important. wish you good luck :)

I know shellly, who posts on here, said they're available in Australia and I think they're called MaybeBaby. A friend told me she swears by 50s-style upside-down cycling after getting jiggy :D, as does her SIL and SIL's sister and best friend. Now, I take no responsibility for any falls from the bed or hoots of laughter from amused husbands, but I did do this when we conceived DS so maybe, just maybe, it works. Yes ;) They are available in Australia. In my experience I'd say the Maybe Baby works better (more accurate) than the OPK pee sticks. :D And as for the cycling - my nearly 9 month baby is proof it works! ;) And yes, DH had so much fun making fun of me doing it, but I had the last laugh when I showed him my very strong, very visible, positive HPT. :D OP, sending you all the baby dust possible! Hang in there!!!

can you get it here? 3 years back I remember holding this microscopic 'thing' when we were TTC, didn't end up buying though as DS was conceived that soon after. This was available at the pharmacy next to Dubai London Clinic Festival City. Sorry dont remember the name of that pharmacy but it's right next door to DLC.

Just to give you ladies some hope. Two of my friends TTC for over two years. 3 1/2 years ago they both had their first. One friend now had two boys, the other friend has two boys and one girl. My SIL tried for 6 years and was told she had basically 1% chance of conceiving naturally. They were looking into IVF or whatever the other one is called. Two months later she found out she was pregnant. Had a baby boy 6 months ago and is due in January with her second. Wish you ladies all the best

HI Lil, I hope my post does not offend, but I was given these tips and they worked great! I think the charting will really help you a lot. It takes a lot of the mystery out of it, and will be a great help to determine if you are ovulating or not. As you are only one month into this, you should be excited about what you may discover. You will need to chart for a few months to really be sure about anything. Secondly, when you know you are in the ovulating phase, be sure to wait at least 1 1/2 days between each 'attempt'. The sp... need to have time to rebuild. Last tip from another friend, and works like a gem, (and rated G) - the big O during or afterwards acts like a vacuum and sends those little swimmers along much faster - then don't move! Put a pillow under your back side and chill for a while... no immediate showers!!! I can't remember what you call it, but there is a little magnifying glass type mechanism which you put your saliva on, and then when you look closely with the magnifyer, you will see a fern-like formation. This was REALLY helpful. With a chart, the fern-like symbol, plus placement of the cerv.. (up high and hard) you are good to go! Too much info???? Sorry...just want to help. I too buried my head on the web...

A couple more months of charting should show you for sure whether you're ovulating or not, but I know how frustrating that is. I remember the doctor at Medcare - the hospital that stuffed up my HSG test twice in the space of two months - told me to come back next month, and not to worry as it was only another month and I wanted to rip her head off and stuff it in the x-ray machine. If you're getting the thermal shift, I'd say that was a pretty positive sign that you're ovulating. If you're not, you'll be able to take that info back to your doctor and they can work with it. I know it is all so frustrating but I found two positives in charting. One, I knew for sure when we'd tried at the right time, and two, I knew exactly when my period was due so I never got my hopes up for no reason. Prior to charting I had a few months where my period was a week late - or so I thought - and I was even more gutted not to get a positive pregnancy test those months. Small comfort, I know, especially when you're getting cliches chucked at you left, right and centre, but it did help me. Good luck and keep us posted.

If your Doc is reluctant to start the treatment now, maybe a change of Doc might help. I highly recommend Dr Munira at the Dubai Mall Medical Centre. She doesn't have the best bedside manner in the world, but look past that - she's very good at what she does. She has been fantastic for me, she doesn't muck about at all and I only wish I had found her years ago.

Have you been charting your temperatures to learn more about your cycle and pinpoint exactly when you should be trying? We stopped using contraception four years before we conceived DS and it wasn't until I did this that we finally hit jackpot. Of course, it may have just been luck and nothing to do with charting, but I honestly believe that's what finally cracked it for us. It'll also show up any problems that may be there, even if they've not been immediately obvious so far. The book Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a Godsend, as is the website www.fertilityfriend.com. Or post on here and I'll ramble on about it for hours :D.
