We have friends coming up next week on a limited stop over trip and I wanted their kids to see some camels while they are here.

Where is the best place to see some? (on a budget too so can't do places like Desert Ranch).

Do they still have one roaming on a beach somewhere? Anyone know which beach?

Thanks

Or Heritage village. They have some and you can do camel rides there. Where is this please? Head towards Shindaga Tunnel and you take the slip road by Carrefore on the right just before it and it's up there. Oh cool - that would be perfect. This is the Bastikiya (sp) area then? This would be the Shindaga area - just before the tunnel. The Bastakiya is a little up the creek near the abra stations and the museum.

I had visitors here last week and by chance we struck it lucky with our camel spotting. On the road heading toward Al Ain just passed the sevens venue there is a turn off to Al Lisali and then a turn to your left toward the camel pens - we must have seen over a hundred camels with their blankets on being led down the road by their trainers, who were only too happy to have their photos taken. I've never seen that many camels in my 6 years in Dubai. Fab, thanks~!

Yes, beside the creek. But before that. You can't really miss it.

Go for a drive through Nad al Sheba. There are still a few herds up there. However, be aware that if you take photos, the herdsman will expect tips! (Trust me, the herdman won't even be visible until you press the shutter, then he will make himself known!!)

Last I knew, there was one doing rides on JBR beach, unless that has stopped recently.

Just head up Emirates road towards UAQ, there's always loads of camels roaming about. There's a camel farm from what I can see as well.
