Yes - it doesnt make any difference if the company determinate you or you resign. Its is valid for private companies outside of freezones. No - in the probation period, if you resign you cannot be banned!!!! I work in the HR and handle the same issue. She starts 2 months ago and left us because she can't handle the kids+work. We canceled her work permit last week and she got straight away a labour ban of 6 months. Reason: If you resign or get kick out there is "some wrong" with you. She was under the sponsorship of her husband, MBA holder, salary more than 20k and European passport. edited by Gege_DXB on 24/10/2011 edited by Gege_DXB on 24/10/2011

The MOL have applied new rules for non Freezone employees. It all depends on your salary and education level If you have a degree and are offered a salary of 12,000AED and above their are no bans If you earn 5 or 6,000AED and have only a High School diploma no ban The above is only for unlimited contract holders only. With limited as the OP wrote you may have to pay them compensation for leaving

i would contact the Labour Office - I resigned after my probation period but before the year was up - On a limited contract _ check your contract - if its limited it will have a finish date - unlimited is undated My company tried to charge me 9,000AED for leaving for the cost of the VISA and an Exam I had to take to do my job - I rang the Labour Office and was advised that I was not liable .. I had to pay 700AED in the end and was released without a ban .. the labour law changed in January of this year in that if you could prove that you were being paid 5,000AED or more and that you had certificates to prove your education/further education and you were 'bettering ' yourself by changing jobs they cant impose a ban I put all the info into an email - and that was it no ban transfered companies and paid the 700AED
