hi ladies, i have my brother-in-law's wedding coming up and would like to colour my hair. I asked my doctor and she said it was fine..have any of you coloured your hair while pregnant?

was having a dye with ammonia in it a problem for you?

If so, I am not sure where i can find hair colour which doesn't contain ammonia - help anyone!

Thank you Giggles - how useful! Am 24 weeks now so hopefully should be okay. I will ask my salon about L'orea..i probably will have togo buy this myself (groan) meaning i have to pick the hair colour..usually the salon mix 2 different ones for me i think!

It's usually advised to avoid coloring your hair during the first trimester but after that it should be fine. Loreal have an ammonia free color range so if you find a salon that uses Loreal products, give them a call and see if they have your colour available. I have a semi permanent colour done on my hair and it's ammonia free (I generally get my hair done in Oz though but I'm sure they'd stock it here too). I have coloured my hair during both pregnancies and no harm done. Also I haven't looked at their home colour kits so I'm not sure about the ammonia content there. Otherwise Zen Beauty Lounge in Discovery Gardens use ammonia free products. Good Luck and enjoy the wedding!
