My little girl had her teeth cleaned last week and as her gum is infected a bit the vet has given her Antibiotic syrups for 7 days.He gave me a syringe to make the task easier but its a tough battle I'm fighting for the past two nights. She doesn't want the syrup. I have tried pouring it in her mouth ,tried pouring it through her lips and she hates both methods. I almost had to sit on her tonight to keep her still and pour the syrup from between her lips. How can I give her the syrup without having to wrestle?

Hope she takes it! I remember trying to give my little guy medicine after surgery and i wasnt able/ didnt want to force it down his throat and hold his little mouth and rub his neck to help him swallow like my husband did. I found it too distressing, so i gave him the meds on bread if it was liqird and i mashed up pills in his dinner too. he loved getting the extra bread ( exclusively dog food only dog, so he loved the treat of 'human food'). Hope she feels better soon, its heartbreaking when they arent well!

It is the taste she doesn't like? or just the method? Why not just soak the required amount into some bread then feed it to her? it will be soft and (hopefully digused) otherwise instead of forcing it on her, see if she would lick it from the syring (althou might be too late for that now). Good luck.

Try and put it in a small amount of her favourite food. I do this with my cats.
