Set for handover end of March. Was told existing memberships will be honoured but not sure what it means for all those classes. Anyone heard anything?

Zumba teacher at Hayya told us he was leaving as Fitness First were taking over Hayya. Such a shame, he was a really good teacher, looks like FF will be the death of Hayya as we know it.

Also disappointed to hear of this as love being able to pay per class. Was trying to think of a way around it and was wondering if FF will have to honour block cards that aren't used up? Essentially then, I could buy a couple and start them, using them up even when FF have taken over. What do you ladies think?

Another one who's not a fan of FF either here sad to say. Don't like the fact you can't just do classes, but have to take out entire memberships, plus I never found their staff that great either.

Thanx! Would be great if I can sport at the "hayya" too. It's a 5 minute walk for me ;)

Hi! Yes I was told this yesterday by a fitness first staff member. They are apparently keeping the layouts of the hayya gyms and inputting all fitness first procedures, not sure what this will mean exactly.. Fees will change and paying for individual classes ( as you can do at hayya ) won't be an option anymore..

If this means that we can finally pay for gym memberships at Hayya clubs monthly (as FF allow you to do at all their existing locations), then great.

I heard through friend whose friend is instructor there and they have been given verbal notice that is going to happen but nothing has been confirmed in writing. I asked the guy at the desk this morning and he was vague but did 'promise' that those who have paid up for their memberships with Hayya will not be affected. If it is true I hope it will just be the fitness areas that are changed and nothing else. What happens to the swimming pools and will the Lakes Club be affected much at all I wonder?

I have also heard this a couple of times now. I REALLY hope this is not the case I have been a member there for about 5 years and yes they could do with updating equipment and there are improvements that are needed. However its friendly and I like all the pools and good classes. I have looked at Fitness First and I don't like them at all. Tried to get costing from them once and the lady was rude and very unhelpful and I really don't like the way they set there gyms out. I have not met one person in Dubai who likes Fitness FIrst this would be a real shame if it all changes a bit harsh but true. Would love to know what they have planned and if they will be run the same as the other gyms personally I dont think they can as Hayya have different cliental to the Fitness First gyms much more family focused. Lets wait and see if anything official is said.

Interesting. Who did you hear this from Dragon? At least they might have the money to improve some of the equipment...

Oh no! This is a shame. It was handy just paying per class as and when. I guess if FF are in charge they won't allow that. I fell out with FF years ago over a c*ck up with membership and vowed never to set foot in their gyms again!
