Jumeirah Janes pronouce it "b'day" Yikes! Never thought myself the JJ type!! Just how is it pronounced?? (I s'pose I say biday) It is pronounced many ways and all are understandable :)......your are not wrong and no, it is not just JJ's who pronounce it b'day,,, it is many nationalities. If you want to be correct, pronounce it as the french do and that would make the rest of us JJ's I suppose. http://www.forvo.com/word/bidet/ btw, the term JJ is very rarely used now :)

The seat-bidet is great for shaving legs, as I'm a shower-girl, not a bath-girl. Have a basin plug in mine, nice hot water, perfect height for putting one leg up. But it definitely wastes a lot of space in the bathrooms :-(

Funny Story - We had some guests over from the UK when we first moved over and there was a bit of commotion in the toilet. the wife comes up to me very embarrased saying that her husband did a poo in the 'small' toilet but it doesnt have a flush so she isnt sure how to get rid of the poo '!!!!!! she asked if I had to turn on the flushing mechanism from the main switch ?!! My response was '' Its a Bidet .. you wash your bits in that or your feet. Not do the deeds in it ... You will just have to fish it out with your fingers and stick it in the toilet next to it ! !!!!!!!!!!!!! yuke !!!

Its a bum washer for want of a better word, you sit facing away from the taps!! Towards.....for swishing and temp control...... Ha you are right, I just googled it Bidet is a French word for pony (and in Old French, bider meant to trot). This etymology comes from the notion that one rides a bidet much like a pony is ridden. In addition, the bidet is also referred to as the "garden hose." It's also referred to as a garden hose?! Uggg i just got a mental picture of someone cleaning their bottom with a garden hose, lol. yep, DIY colonic irrigation.... lolol Seriously! The whole concept reminds me of a water skiing accident I had as a child!

I use my bidet to wash my feet. The hose next to the toilet is much more practical than the bidet for cleaning after using the toilet. Mine's a multi-use bidet - good for both.

It's not supposed to be. The one with the seat is for newspaper-reading. Oh you got me ... can't stop laughing ... Thanks for the morning smile :) edited by Quizzme on 06/02/2012
