I am glad to see that there is such a strong community of support here in Dubai!
My name is Carey and I am the program coordinator for the Raymee Grief Center.
We were initially going to offer support groups for children and teens who had experienced the death of a sibling or parent, but after assessing the needs of the community we have started a general grief support group and welcome any individual who has experienced the death of someone significant to them. We hope, as our group grows, to be able to provide multiple support groups that can meet the varying needs of community members.
These support groups are free to attend and open ended (people are free to decide how long they would like to attend - from a few sessions to a few years).
Our next support group is on Monday, May 14 from 6pm - 7pm at the LightHouse Arabia clinic (Villa 2, Jumeirah Beach Road, Umm Suqeim 2, Dubai) and is open to children ages 3+, teens, and adults.
Children who attend will participate in a group separate from the adults. This will be held in our play therapy room. Teens will have the option of staying in the adult group or participating in a separate teen group. All of these groups are facilitated by a mental health professional.
If you have any questions or would like to attend our next support group, please contact me at [email protected] or call the LightHouse Arabia clinic at +971 4 380-9298. We conduct a short phone intake with each group member prior to them starting the group to answer any questions you may have and to screen for people who may be more appropriate for individual grief counseling.
In addition to support groups, the Raymee Grief Center also hosts monthly community talks with the aim of educating the UAE community about grief and supporting people after a death. Our next community talk is on Sunday, May 20 from 5:30pm to 7pm and will be presented by clinical psychologist Dr. Tara Wyne. During this talk, Dr. Wyne will discuss topics such as the different manifestations of grief, learning how to give and receive support when impacted by a loss, and how grief can impact relationships. This will also be held at the LightHouse Arabia clinic.
If anyone would like to attend this talk, please RSVP to me at [email protected] and I will reserve you a seat. This talk is free to attend.

In case anyone pulls up this thread just saw in Express that Ligthhouse Arabia is starting bereavement groups though it seemed to be mainly for siblings. Will update here when I know more.
I have personal experience with Helen Williams (Lifeworks migth do support group one day, again will info when I know) and Jared Alden, both very good with different approaches. That being said being in touch with other bereaved parents is what pulls me through.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. BC posted not long ago so I hope she sees this and is able to give you some advice.
I cannot imagine your pain. You will be in my prayers.
So sorry to hear what you are going through, Mami. Why not start a thread putting out a call for Blue Camel - I'm not sure if she's still around these parts.
Happymami, you may want to make your own thread- this one is from 2 years ago.
