I haven't seen any pumpkins around. Bit surprised. Have any been spotted?

Vote for fruit and veg market. They had tons of pumpkins last year, got five or six diffrent shape and size ones, for something like 60 dirhams....carved them all out. Kg was something like 2-3-4 dirhams. Do not expect "prefect" shaped pumkins like the ones in Spinneys.

fruit n veg market - much cheaper... Same here! I made some really cool and scary pumpkins last year with my deformed Fruit & Veg market Indian pumpkins!! :) They served their purpose ;) I wouldn't be caught dead paying over 100 aed for a smallish pumpkin that I'm just gonna carve and let sit in the sun!

Noticed in Spinneys etc the Pumpkins are nearing on 20-30AED per kilo. so expect to pay a small fortune for one. Agree, look out for the local ones, especially at the veg market and Co-op.
