The salaries are reasonable considering they have accommodation, meals, transport and they dont have to pay for their visas like other companies. Also, they guys I have used before usually make more in tips, and this is where the job works for them. I am a big tipper, especially when they have got my car and me home safely. They stick to the speed limit, and are very courteous and polite. Ive requested one of their drivers for 1 month as a private driver, as I cant drive at the moment. There is a market out there for this service, and I will continue to use them when I need (despite the fact I havent been out drinking for ages and now I cant drink because of the meds, sigh .....). Good Luck Safedriver Babylons. Sorry...this isnot related to this thread...but I have just read your blog. I had no idea. You mentioned being "out of action" on my "fat magnet" thread but I didn't realize it was that serious...thought u had flu or something ;-) anyway, please please please shout if there's ANYTHING you need. An if u need to be driven somewhere aNd want a bit more personal assistance then safedrive can offer - just say. I'll be happy to help. How are you doing your grocery shops? Are u still on the same mobile number?

I dont have the numbers yet, will let you know once Ive got it all sorted. Ive been advised its more expensive than taxis but I need one to drive me all over, to work and back, shopping, to FF gym (pool only sadly ...), friends, other appointments etc. I will need to be very organised with my planning for each week, and stick to it - especially when I leave work, mind you that will be good discipline. Oh thanks! So will they be working for the month say 9-5 all day or more of a x amount of trips per day basis? I may be needing a driver for a month too and would prefer my own car driven rather than a different taxi so would love to know TIA AdviceSeeker, its best to contact them and tell the dates that you require them for and whats your schedule like [i.e. fixed office hours or out of office weekends, et cetera'> They are very professional and provide personalized plans to suit your routine.

Isn't there a slight irony in a company supplying the drinking market bearing in mind the drinking laws?

Question to those who complain about human rights issues etc etc... will you still be using this company now, when, shock, horror, you found out that they don't pay their staff much? The same as maid agencies....... Will they also stop using taxis? They have the same conditions if not worse and have to pay for their own housing unlike safe driver.

I have just received this email from Safedriver this morning: [b'>Subject: Saferdriver Night Service Operation Changes[/b'> Dear Valued Customer, Firstly, we would like to thank you all for your continued support. Saferdriver has continued to grow, and it is down to your continued loyalty and strong belief in corporate social responsibility. Over the last couple of months there has been a few changes. Saferdriver is focusing further on the pickup drop off night service and therefore have cancelled a contract with a customer based in Dubai. Due to the demand that occurs during the evenings, especially weekends, Saferdriver is proud to announce that some of the drivers from the cancelled contract, will be deployed in the night service. These drivers are currently undergoing various training exercises. We are hoping that this will ensure less waiting time and more efficiency when booking a service. However, we still recommend you book in advance. We are always looking for ways to improve the service levels and we feel that our overall customer satisfaction levels will improve by dedicating more staff to the night service operations. Saferdriver is also happy to announce that the long awaited Loyalty Programme will be launched soon. We will be informing you closer to the date when it is released, so that you can enjoy all the privileges it will bring. We always welcome your feedback and suggestions in way you think would help improve our service. Once again, thank you for your continued support and thank you for using Saferdriver. Regards. Saferdriver Management

We have only ever had good drivers from there. It's a great service sad to see it end but the company must look after their staff better. Our cab driver the other day was telling us some pretty awful things about the life and times of a Dubai taxi driver - seems they are all as bad as each other - no wonder there are so many accidents on the roads these guys are exhausted and need more time off 12/14 hour shifts 7 days a week ........it's cruelPrecisely. New law required for anyone with a job title that involves driving, that they should be restricted from driving for x hours without x amount of rest.

We have used them afew times, always had a decent driver. Does this mean I have to delete their number in my phone??? what a shame who will drive us home now???? I don't believe so, the only part that has gone bust is the part where they hire drivers to emirates, think the rest is still fine.

We use them all the time and have only had good drivers too. Is the whole company gone or just the department that lost the Emirates contract? The way I read it was that they are getting rid of the employees they hired to work on the Emirates contract. I could be wrong though. Shame if it's gone it was a really handy service. Yeah just reread and it doesn't say the company is closing just dealing with the hires from the airline contract.

I have used them and we have been very lucky with the drivers. (mind you I had had a glass of el vino so maybe my senses were a tad confused lol), but I have heard some stories about drivers especially people with a manual car. Glad I used my nabbit deal at the weekend now. It is shame though because the concept of the company I thought was great. edited by shazman on 05/04/2011
