Pity you only have Friday morning-you won't find any fabric unique to Dubai in these stores-mostly imported cottons-the only way I have found something that is a bit different is to buy cotton rice bags like the Black Camel brand-bit like the old way of using flour sacks in the 30s-the bags have Arabic and English writing on and Middle Easter nimagery-just a thought-and at least available on friday mornings though you will have to dispose of a lot of rice as they are often 5kg bags!!!
Hi Kate
Take a look at this shop - they have a gorgeous range of quilting cottons.

Not sure about the best way from the Sheraton but it's an easy place to get to in a taxi.
Enjoy Dubai!
Hi, I am a Canadian/Australian who will be visiting Dubai for a very short time on my way to Africa safari. I only have Friday morning available and wanted to go to a patchwork fabric shop (one of my passions, collecting fabric from all around the world for my projects!). The only one I could find on a google search is closed Fridays. Any suggestions? I am looking specifically for quilting cottons, not general dress fabric shops. And if you have some store suggestions, what would be the easiest way to get there from the Sheraton? Thank you! (PS - I am also doing a Dubai tour, so not just going shopping TEE HEE!).
