Rear AND front facing
Can be used till 3 years
Isn't too heavy
Folds easily for travel (this I can forgo because we can get one of the simpler, lighter ones when we travel)

If anyone has suggestions and the price, it would be of IMMENSE help :)

I agree on the Explory but Bugaboo cameleon is very very good too! I read all stories on these strollers being so much more expensive here but found this to be only partly true: cameleon here is 4795 dhs which equals 800 Bp. Price at John Lewis was 749 ex shipping and local duties......I really looked into this but decided to buy mine here so I get local support and don't have a risk of receiving a damaged stroller in the mail.....

Stokke Xplory!!! The best one ever! Although I don't travel with it as it gets too cumbersome. Check it out online. If you are going to be travelling, buy it from home (much cheaper). Otherwise they sell it here in Just Kidding for around AED 5 or 6000 for the simple seat one. the maxi cosi cabrio also fits on it with adapters for when baby is under 6 months old.

Bebe Confort Loola Up. I got mine from Goodbaby 2 1/2 yrs ago and it's a dream to steer. Very sturdy, it's been used on the broken pavement on Jumeirah Beach Rd, around Safa Park, through the malls, and so far so good. Just not so good on sand. My 2 1/2 yr old still loves it! You can flip around the whole seat so that it's rear-facing (easy for me to do). It weighs 12 kg. Both my husband and I are tall so we love that the handle goes UP!

We have a baby jogger city mini that I really like. You would need to buy it in europe as they aren't sold here, but only cost a fraction of the bugaboo. I think we paid about 1500 dhs for the stroller plus another 800 dhs for the bassinet. Rear AND front facing - doesn't actually do this but there is a bassinet attachement that you use in the beginning till about 5 months and the baby is facing you then. Can be used till 3 years - at least, is good till 25 kgs I think. Isn't too heavy - is ridiculously light Folds easily for travel (this I can forgo because we can get one of the simpler, lighter ones when we travel) - it can be folded with one hand once you are no longer using the bassinet, before you just need to pop the bassinet off first.

You need to test drive them all before you make your choice! So many things to look at and consider and the only way you will be convinced is, if you take it for a drive :) edited by plumie on 30/01/2011

we have the Ingelsina Zippy Free. the frame is lightweight but very sturdy. 9kgs I think, but when you ad the seat component for the pram (which can face both ways and lays flat + 3 other positions also) brings it up to 12kg. I think it is a great pram and we walk with it around the pavers in the lakes and springs etc and have no problem. Didn't have to buy the carry cot part because it lays flat. Only issue I have with it now is DS is 9kgs and a tad chubby, I think he finds it uncomfortable to sleep in because it is rather narrow, but will certainly fit better when he lengthens out a bit after a growth spurt :D It folds umbrella fold and don't have to remove the pram seat to fold. Car seat can be attached also. Has reasonable storage basket and small drink holder that fits Masafi or Arwa 500ml bottles.

Quinny is nice but don't think it will meet your light requirement, it weighs 12 kg, Bugaboo Bee & Cameleon meet all your requirements.

Love my Bugaboo Bee. Its nice and light (back problems so the fact that it weighs only 7 kgs is wonderful), so easy to use. Only negative is that the seat is a bit low. We travelled with it and absolutely love it.

we never regretted getting a bugaboo - the only negative (I had the frog - but I believe it folds the same) is that to fold you do it in 2 peices....though we now have the bee which is great too By the by - we are selling our frog if you don't mind second hand....I was planning on taking it too the next baby market....

I feel like a broken record - but you won't regret going for the Bugaboo Cameleon. It ticks all your boxes plus I believe its the only decent stroller to go 'off road' which is handy for around Dubai. It handles brilliantly off road, know from experience. The travel bag for it is BRILLIANT!!! Recently traveled to Oz and to be completely honest all the strollers looked so 'rough' when being brought out to the baggage belts and had gunk and cr@p all over them, ours came out unscathed and neatly packed in its travel bag. You really need to go to a shop with a few brands and 'test drive' them to get a feel for all different brands. Happy shopping!

I second the bugaboo cameleon - it is pricey, but has been very, very good for us - and has travelled to NZ and London. Also, it was really handy that his 1st stage maxi cosi car seat fits on the base of the bugaboo, so if he fell asleep in the car, I didn't have to disturb him by transferring him out... HTH

Bugaboo Cameleon is what we've gone with and it does all those things (plus LOADS more) and was one of the lighter prams we looked at. Not the cheapest, about 5150 AED in total, however saw recently at Mothercare Mirdiff City Centre for about 4100-4200 ish.
