DH wants to do an MBA - doesn't currently have a degree, but lots of experience. If he does an MBA here, say at Middlesex or Manchester, or some of the DIAC places, will it be recognised anywhere other than here? I've looked through previous threadds and can't find the answer but was just reading about how the PGCE Sunderland doesn't give you QTS in the UK, so don't want him to sign up for something that will ultimately be useless when/if we go back to the UK. TIA

Try the London School of Business based at DIFC. Not sure of their entry requirements but the school is highly rated.

if he's going to go through the time, stress and expense of an mba, make sure it's from a university that is highly regarded and will give him real added value in the job market...middlesex isn't for example...the manchester mba is excellent, as is the edinburgh business school one via herriot watt...both are recognised internationally... xx

I just got a call from Atlanta University here the other day for an MBA course. It is on Friday mornings I think and it was not expensive compared to the prices I hear here. However, I do not know how good it is. It is accredited here but I do not know about the UK. Does anyone know anything on this university?

Thanks ladies, will tell him to check and double-check who he signs up with if he decides to go ahead. Personally I'd rather enrol him in a cooking course, would be much more useful in this household than a ******* MBA course!

I'm looking into doing a Masters with Middlesex and I've been to their campus in Knowledge Village. Their graduates get the Middlesex University degree from the home campus. They have samples of the actual degree you get in the admissions centre and its the UK one. Good luck with your Masters! :)

That's sound advice simples. I only know about UK full time ones. For recognised MBA's, the FT does a global ranking of MBA's http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/global-mba-rankings-2011 ...some of them might do distance learning, I don't know. HTH.

I know nothing about higher education here, but would suggest your husband looks into a long distance MBA, or MBA by correspondence from somewhere perhaps more recognized than the places here, if you're from the UK? Cranfield is one where I know you can do "distance learning", I think he would just have to go over a couple of times a year for personal tuition (racking brains for when husbad started one from Geneva - he didn't finish cos he got a job and couldn't multi-task - ain't that the way with men ;) ) and the rest is done via on-line tutorials. The Open University would be another way - I believe it caters for people who don't have a first degree and might be of more use to your husband? Good luck!
