Hiya YorkshirePud (love the name, my favourite!!), if Shep can't help and Dunight ends up bringing it to the UK, I live a couple of miles from Manchester airport and come over to Huddersfield every Wednesday to see my sister so could collect it from Dunight and bring it over to you if you don't want to trust the post. Just give me a shout! Favourite name or favourite food?? :) So many choices, such kind ladies. I will see if Shep can bring it, if my DH can meet up with her, if not I will be back to you all for plan B. Where abouts in Hudds does she live? Food, haha, but a great name too! :D My sister is is Paddock, but Mum (who also comes to Hudds on Wednesdays, we have a girly day!) lives in Bretton (you mentioned being near Barnsley way...) so would no doubt also be happy to take it her way if nearer for you! Where are you? We tend to have a little drive out somewhere so may end up coming nearer to you sometime during the day...

my sister is a tailoress in barnsley... not far from Huddersfield? she would be able to do alterations at short notice, she specialises in bridalwear if its any help? That would be a definite option if my DH cant get the dress to dunight. Does she have a shop where I contact her or does she do it from home? Barnsley is really close to me :)

Hi Yorkshire Pud, DH and I are traveling to UK next weekend - if it's any help and your DH can get it to me in Mirdif I'll happily bring it over in my case, then we can arrange to get it to wherever you are in UK... We're flying in to Manchester. It continues to surprise me how lovely everyone on here is and will do anything to help you out. Another positive to moving :) That would be brilliant, I liv in Huddersfield so not far from Manchester at all so I could collect it or arrange for it to be posted. I know nothing can be done to help this situation but I just needed to vent my absolute stupidity! So, my brother gets married on 7th May, and I am a bridesmaid. I move to Dubai on 10th May so all our stuff got shipped over back in Feb. And stupid me shipped my bridesmaid dress!! So my DH is in Dubai now and returns for the wedding on 5th May, which would be fine, except I need my dress fitting so I have 24 hours to do this when he gets back!! And no one seems to be able to do this for me, even when I offer more money! I thought baby brain went when the sleep deprivation subsided? Obviously I’m destined to a life time of idiocy! Ahhhh rant over. ETA anyone know the cost/reliability/timescale for getting something shipped to the UK? <em>edited by YorkshirePud on 13/04/2011</em>
