A word of warning about Blue Bird.... By all means buy your packing materials from them - they have a good choice and are far, far cheaper than ACE or Ikea, but do not use them to move you. We made that mistake. They are cheap but they just hire a truck/driver and some labourers. I object to having upright lamps and other items of furniture thrown in the back of an open truck with no packaging or protection whatsoever.

ACE (festival city) has them for 19aed each! The industrial estate over the road sells them for 1aed each. Really???? I had no idea, will keep this in mind for my move in August. Think its called Umm Ramool, if coming from Emirates road towards Festival city turn right at traffic lights instead of left into festival city. Its called Blue bird and is near the Dubai duty free buildings. I'm sure you will get offers of boxes from EW ladies. If you are using a removal company for the big stuff book them now and ask them for the boxes. They usually supply a set number free of charge and then the rest are chargeable.
