Just to share and ask for opinions. I was posting the thread before about parents not allowed to bring kids to the classroom but have to drop them at the parents waiting area. Now have more points to ask your opinion about - there are 26 kids in a group - I have strong doubts that the teacher has time to pay attention to each during 3 hours of daily school time. To add to that - the teachers are changing. I feel for the KG-1 is very important to have trust and confidence in the teacher but how is that possible if the teachers are changing (since the beginning of KG1 till end of June change happened 3 times). I do feel that DS is tensed and not encouraged enough at school. Here are my questions just to know how is it in your KG-1 or FS-1:
1. how many children in a group?
2. does the teacher has an assistant teacher at all times during the 3 hours of school?
3. do KG 1 students get home work?
4. is it normal that teachers at KG 1 are changing?
5. are there test and so called class-observation results in your school as well (for me sounds very weird to assess 3-4 year olds in KG where they are supposed just to play and have fun)?
6. the grouping of children is done in a way that in the same KG 1 group there can be 3.5 as well as 5 year old kids, is that normal?
I am kind of unhappy with the school for the moment and might even think of changing it.
I would appreciate your replies, thank you!

For my DD's school. 1- 20 in the class 2-Yes, there is an assistant with the teacher the all day. 3-No, just practising some sounds at home 4- It can happen although it hasn't happened at our school 5- There are observation but they are not really tests. Just to see how the children react / play with each other etc. 6-There should not be any 5 year old. In September, the children were 3 (very few children who were born in July,August / 3.5 or 4 (for one or two of the children born in September). Hope it helps. Good luck
