Hello Duddym, there is also a dentist programm available. It cost per year 400 AED membership and then you entiteled get discounts of up to 80% off all basic and oral-cosmetic treatments and services across that network of dental healthcare providers as well as free dental check-ups. in Dubai and Sharjah. I can send you some information if you are interested.

Just isnt in the big fancy villa in Jumeira, thats why his prices are cheap. DH went to Dr. Madhu and was pleased - and that's coming from someone with dental fear. Good dentistry, and the clinic was easy to find, too. edited by jophiel on 08/09/2011

We live and learn! I shelled out lots in dentist bills when I first came to Dubai - funnily enough, back home I hardly ever needed any treatment, apart from a yearly clean! I vowed after the last dentist in Healthcare City quoted me AED5000 for a root canal (that Dr Madhu said I didn't really need for the time being), that I would not pay these silly prices again and I thought I'd give Dr M a try and have not looked back. I told him last week that I will probably fly back from Doha to have my treatment here, as we are leaving in a few weeks.

I had an implant at a well known dentist on Beach Road. Was quoted 14,000 with permanent crown and had a temporary crown fitted straight away. When I went to the desk to pay for the implant I was informed that the permanent crown would be an extra 5,000 !! When I pointed out that the figure I had been told was to include the crown, the clinic would not back down and said that the dentist had quoted the wrong price in the first instance. Needless to say that 2 1/2 years later the temperary crown is stil in place and will stay there until it falls out. No way am I going to pay 5,000 for a crown, absolutely outrageous.

I had root canal treatment done at the dentist in motor city (btw he didnt tell me thats what he was doing, i thought he was just giving me a filling!!) and it cost nearly 4000dhs!!!! the worst part is its not even finished.... he wants me to come back and get the "tooth rebuilt" - that will be the day!!! Oh, wow. DH is now sporting 4 new crowns and 2 root canals as well. Thought he would have just a couple fillings, as his dentist back home said everything was perfectly fine last fall. He did have a tooth ache early this spring, thus the need to see a "local" dentist (an expat as well). Hmm. The last root canal is half-way done. And will remain that way for a while. He just needed to have a break, as the constant need to see a dentist was getting a bit too intense. Probably running a dental clinic isn't that inexpensive, either. Yet once burned, twice... yep ring him up and ask all details and tell him what u need/want just click on the search button and get his details. Thanks! Will do. :)

Does anyone know the ball park figure for a crown? My DH has been told over 3k and that seems incredibly steep to me... Yeah, DH went to Umm Suqeim 2 some months ago and it was 3,350 Dhs/porcelain crown (regular design, inclusive of temporary crown). I'd say incredibly steep is about right. Ladies who went to Dr. Madhu's clinic, is it for sure his porcelain crowns are exactly the same quality? How did you sort that out? yep ring him up and ask all details and tell him what u need/want just click on the search button and get his details. I need 3 crowns but im pregnant at the mo and will def have it done with Dr Madhu when ive given birth. People prob dont go there because of where he is situated and prob think he doesnt do the same quality of work but he does. He just doesnt charge all that extra profit onto like in Jumeriah...No way does a crown cost over 3 k to put in, its silly money they charge.

Some of the more expensive dentists, esp. in Jumeirah will charge you that. I had a crown in Bur Dubai and as I remember it cost around AED2800. Dr Madhu does crowns for a lot cheaper than that (tried and trusted on EW by various people)...do a search on him and you can read people's experiences who've actually had crowns done with him....there are different qualities of crown, all with differing prices... edited by chizz on 18/07/2011
