Something I want to say to the hovering parents in my local park who yell at their kids for swinging too high on the swings or trying to climb a tree.

I have a 3yr old that thinks the couch is a trampoline. And I swear he's hit his head so many times in those 3yrs and probably going to break something one of these days. You can only protect them so much but if they can't explore they are going to be those who never take chances later in life.

I have to agree with you and also the constant supervision that children seem to be under today. I'm not saying you shouldn't be watchful as a parent but children need to be able to explore by themselves. When I was young there were strict rules about when to come home and where we could go and my Mum was never far away but we played outside by ourselves with all the children that lived in our street.
