Ok thanks I believe they take it off the school fees will call the school as I like it in writing also I'm gonna see if the have kdha s approval to do it.
Also after looking around fs1 yesterday I didn't go outside :@ do they have a small pool for the little ones? Also a pool for the older kids etc?
I have two kids there, year 1 and year 2, and so far we are pretty happy with the school, and more importantly, our kids are happy. the construction is finished, so no worries there.
Yes we had to pay the 5k as soon as my son got offered a place. It is fully refundable tho so if you end up changing your mind they will give you your money back, provided you show them the receipt.
I'd get in there quick if your thinking of moving as the whole of fs1 is full and they will transferring to fs2. ...I've just been offered a place for fs1 for September next yr...and waiting till December to get a yr 7 placement offered to me. We are looking around in a few weeks where we can meet fs teachers and the children can play there, but were told we have 7 days to pay 5 k to keep the placement which wil be deducted off the school fees, has anyone see paid this ? I thought they couldn't ask for money until term starts.
Well if KHDA approved Reptons request for 10k to hold a place I am sure they will allow GEMS to do the same. Is the 5k refundable to a certain point?

So are you guys all happy with the school? It's been a month since school started. My daughter is in Regents in FS1 and I love how her grammar and sentence formation has improved in just a month! But we're moving to Silicon Oasis in December and we're thinking about having her transferred to Gems Wellington DSO from next term. I wanted to know how you feel your kids are progressing.
Is the construction over and done with? or is the building still under construction?

Most schools have bare walls when you return in September, and fill when the kids do their work, pretty pointless to keep the previous years work on the walls. Teacher not standing to greet you, says a lot in my book.

I was at the parents induction also, we were very impressed (agree about the microphone SuzyDuzy!) We just hope they deliver on what they are promising educationally, if so it will be an exceptional school. The staff we met were all very professional and positive - nice to see here in ME.
Hi Emm, I have DS in FS1 and DD in Year 2...
It still quite bare - but when I look at my living room it is the same, we moved in 4 weeks ago so we have to be realistic. It will take time to get the finer things in place, but for the most they are on the right track. Music room was still waiting for some equipment stuck in customs. A microphone for the meeting would have been very welcome - but you know, these things will all come in time. It is a massive job so we have to give them the time to find their feet. They are very excited, you can feel that, so i wish them luck. I know it won't be perfect - we would be expecting far too much. I am sure there will be problems along the way, but this is to be expected. Their is a positive vibe though which is nice - 1000 students already!!!
So is its not all up and running? I remember my dd joining Wellington primary when it first opened it took over a yr for them to start offering everything and alot of problems here and there what with everyone being new.....
An interesting evening spent at WSO meeting teachers, doing tour etc. Looks promising but they still have a little work to do...totally normal given the complexity of their project. Loved DS's teacher though. - she went all out to be friendly.. It should be much better in a month or so whenthe school spirit sets in, with student art work on the walls etc. Good luck WSO!
