I am looking for a good Montessori school for my DD. But unfortunately here all schools advertise Montessori with British curriculum....
I thought Montessori is in itself a curriculum by itself.... this is how it is back in my home country...
Any ideas for good preschools?
I think the Montessori is the best way of teaching especially for young children as they learn to do things on their own.

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Gulf Montessori Nursery is in Garhoud. Its the only proper montessori curriculum in Dubai imho. The rest of the nurseries incorporate other curriculums therfor not being really 100% montessori. There are no 100% montessori schools in Dubai. They all incorporate other curriculums with the montessori method.

I don't know anything good or bad about Montessori schools in Dubai, I'm afraid, but in my experience, Montessori is an approach to learning/education, rather than a curriculum in itself, so you probably will be fine with a British Curriculum Montessori school. ETA: I think the Montessori system is great, but it spoils children for other systems if they are obliged to change back to the more "traditional" approach when they get a bit older. My daughter found it very difficult to adapt to the stricter, more rigid teaching methods of the French system after having been at a Montessori school till she was 9. The only country I know of where children are taught in the Montessori system all the way till they leave secondary school is Holland. edited by simpleasabc on 15/09/2011
