Dragonmart - how do you get around?

Have read so much about Dragonmart so decided to go and immediately got lost. Was dropped off at front entrance and there seems to be a lot of "bathroom" shops.

How do you wander around? Does each section have a different entrance? Would just like to see what is on offer but am particularly interested Chinese furniture and home accessories etc. Is it the right place to go to for these?

I find Dragonmart quite intimidating-it's so easy to get lost in the side alleys if you wander off the main corridor and of course the shops off the beaten track are usually cheaper as there's less passers by. I've taken to writing detailed notes of where I entered; I know it sounds over the top! Each entrance is signposted and I take note of the name of the first shop on the right as I go in (there's also a code above the doorway of each shop) and then the number of the first shop on the main corridor then I know I can get back to where I went in. It's also useful to take note of prominent vendors in the main avenue like the one selling Thai furit, corn etc. The notes are useful as well for being able to find your way back to a shop that you like. First time we went I found a great shop selling garden furniture, statues, plants etc and I've never been able to locate it since. I also make a note on my phone of where I park even when I go somewhere simple like MOE or MCC, pretty sad I know;)

its actually shaped like a dragon....so the spine is the loooong corridor ofcourse. little alleys and culdesacs on both sides of the main corridor. suggest you dont enter from the front entrance next time but go around from outside . the different sections are marked outside on top of the exit gates to each section...textiles, electronics, home decor etc. the exits open in the car park. it is VERY easy to get lost first couple of times so do keep mental notes of where you are. you will probably never find the same shop again so take the shop/business card from the salesperson if you feel you will need to return to the shop.

It's basically one long (very long) main corridor with all of the little section 'alleyways' leading off it. Try again. You'll get the hang of it. Wear comfortable shoes, don't take impatient children and pack a lunch. ;)

Sorry, sent too soon. Sounds really silly but how do you get from one zone to another - I couldn't get out of the first zone, the one near the front entrance. Are there "connecting" doors from fron to end, or separate entrances for each zone? "Information" couldn't tell me (??!!).

[b'>I'm not sure about the Chinese aspect of things, but given that many of the furniture shops seem to be Chinese owned,[/b'> you might have some luck - worth going again for a browse! edited by simpleasabc on 02/10/2011 edited by simpleasabc on 02/10/2011 Lol...isn't that the only prerequisite for having a store there? Chinese owned/operated and all imported goods from China? I knew it was Chinese owned, didn't realize *everything* was imported from China - just thought it was cheap!

Dragonmart is laid out in zones and in each zone you will find groups of different kinds of shops - bathroom, bedroom, lighting, office furniture, garden furniture, etc etc. This page shows you the lay-out, so you can have an idea of what you're looking at (I find it quite a long way to walk!) http://www.dragonmart.ae/OurStores.html and this is the front page, from which you can work out which shops and zones you might want to concentrate on: http://www.dragonmart.ae/ I'm sorry, don't know what's wrong with the first link, but you can get there from the second one, anyway!
