If you have a camera, computer and printer at home you can also do them yourself. We use http://www.epassportphoto.com/ and the Uk size passport photos.

There is a camera shop with a passport photo booth right next to Waitrose in the Marina Mall. 4 photos for 20 Dhm and they are very helpful.

Don't forget to ask for the picture to be put on a disc or a USB (if you have one with you) so that if you need more you don't have to pose again or you can print them yourself.

in any mall they'll have a kodak/photo print shop where they will do your passport snaps for you. Takes about 20-30mins

Any photo shop will do it for you, I did mine in the Kodak shop in MOE. I will need about 20 for everything that needs doing, your visa alone will need about 5!

My new employer is asking for TWENTY passport size photos. No idea why they need so many, but anyway.... Does anyone know where I can get these done around the Dubai Marina or Ibn Battuta? Back home they do them in pharmacies, but I haven't noticed that being offered here. Thanks in advance!
