My OH was extremely ill, he collapsed at work and was taken to hospital with heat exhaustion. He literally slept for 4 days, his company were very good, even thou he was worried about being away from work as he had deadlines, but when you are ill you are ill. His company never pressurised him to return to work, I must say the company were very considerate.
@ OP, how you OH feels better soon!!! ;)
Adviceseeker, very good advice, thank you. Yes, he has many issues with this employer who are an ungrateful bunch of idiots! He is waiting for a good job opportunity to be approved and he will be away, cant wait!
Mrs Orchid,
Just a word of advice, if you're DH is already having issues with his employer/team etc and he doesn't want to lose his job, I wouldn't get a medical certificate for "exhaustion". Ask the doctor to sign him off for 2/3 days with severe migraines, dysentry (or stomach bug) or even the flu.
Thank you Alexis this is helpful. I think he should go to the doctor and get signed off for exhaustion - he cant sleep, stressed all the time, eats at odd hours as he works till late daily. Really feeling the strain of it all at the moment.
Does anybody know how much sick leave you can have when you've been with a company for 16 months? My DH finds his company very demanding with lots of disagreeing and quarelling in meetings etc. People are working to deadlines and you can understand everyone is under pressure. They dont seem to work as a team and everyone has their own agenda and time lines. My DH tries hard and works long hours to achieve a high standard but is getting no where. He is constantly ill from mainly exhaustion and am asking him to visit the doc for a few days off. He has never done this! As far as the MOL are concerned how many sick days can he have?
