Morning Ladies,

I've started researching suitable holiday destinations for us to go to in February with our baby who will be 10 months by then.
I'm looking East as we'd like somewhere warm and not really far on a plane. I guess a beach resort would be good, I've been looking at Langkawi with a view to spending a few nights in KL on route.
I know you are all pretty well travelled and many of you have small kids too so ur prob' the best people to ask. Lots of tripadvisors reccommendations are in the US which is not an option for us.
Anyway, I am very excited about our 1st holiday as a family and want to plan it properly to avoid going to a totally unsuitable place. xxxxxxx

Thailand is great for babies and kids. We have taken our sons three times in recent years. First time, one was 11 months and very hard work, ESP in evenings. However, the thing about Thailand is that they adore babies and even take little one off your hands so you can eat a meal in peace for a few minutes. Obviously, always in our sight! It is so relaxed and such a "can do" culture. We were in Phuket (Surin beach) and Koh Samui (choeng mon). Enjoy! But may not be a good time to go now with the floods :( We had a holiday planned and now we are frantically looking to go somewhere else. And with an Indian passport is not easy to find countries that issue Visa on arrival! Sigh!

Friends took their toddler to the Maldives recently and said the place they stayed was brilliantly child-friendly. Is that too close to home? I can ask her which hotel she stayed at if you think it might be an option.
