I've looked but can't find it.
Does anyone know where to find it, and what brand makes it here?
Is Laban the same thing?

I just squeezed half a lemon in about 125ml of milk and left for 5 mins before adding to my recipe. Worked out fine :)

It's groundhog day! Do a search on the forum as this was asked just over a week or so ago. Anyway you can use laban. Buttermilk is also available in Park n shop on Al Wasl Rd and as ScottishGal4 said also Organic cafe.

I would squeeze about half a lemon into 2 cups of milk and leave for 30 mins, then you will have buttermilk. They do occasionally sell it here, I think it would be from Al Safa Dairy or Unikai, one of the local companies. Laban is a great substitute otherwise you can make your own with milk and lemon juice-don't now the exact measurements as I've always used laban but i'm certain someone will answer that. If you buy buttermilk then it costs a whole lot more than laban!
