I have been searching on the google and has found few models (not clear) which fits on the airplane seats, but they are not available in dubai. We are thinking of booking a seat for our 17 month old on the 14 hr long flight and i want to carry the car seat. I know he will not sit with the CARES harness and it would be difficult to sleep too (if he slept at all). Can you tell me from your experience how was it to take car seat on the plane, which models of car seat are approved,is anybody selling theirs?we are flying emirates. Thanks

I had sit n stroll car seat which is FAA approved and I used it many times on flights with my son since he was 18 months old till he was 3 years old. It was really worth it. We never had any problem in flights and he always slept comfortably in it. It was easy to carry as it was like stroller and when you want to convert it into carseat the wheels go inside. So on airport also it helped a lot as a stroller. I bought it from centrepoint in Abu dhabi 2.5 years back. Dont know if it is still available there. that's worth checking.thanks

We took our Britax Marathon on a recent flight for our 17 month old boy and it was worth it. I would not have made the flight having to hold him for 14 hours..... You will need 2 adults, though. The car seats are bulky and heavy (as is your 17 month old!).... Our child was very comfortable and slept as well. Unfortunately I am not selling my seats but maybe you can find them somewhere here. Good luck!
