All my children have gone through phases of nappies leaking at night, it never lasts long though. If a nappy change is needed I always change before a feed, doing it after is sure to disrupt them. It doesn't matter if they scream, it only takes a few moments and they are quiet and happy once a boob/bottle is in their mouth.

Hi ladies, Im using huggies for him. Kiwispers....i don't use nappy cream at night, im pretty sure I put his nappy on properly, it's very heavy when I change it so there is a lot of wee in it.... and thank u for the willy tip....didnt pay attention to that. .... not very obvious for me ? Dangerous blonde......I might have to try the active boy as I honestly don't want to change his nappy at night but when I feel his clothes are wet I can't ignore it ....I feel bad for the lil one. Will active boy fit him since he's only 4 months old?

Nappies should not leak. Try a different brand, maybe they do not fit him properly

Is that nappy leaking because it's soaked through, or is it not on properly? Are you using a lot of nappy cream? That can interfere with the absorbency, are you making sure his willy is pointing down ( sorry to state the obvious but I have on occasion forgotten that one). Does the nappy fit well? If it is sopping wet them I guess you do have to change it at night, but otherwise I would never try to change the nappy of a sleeping baby. I stopped changing both my kids nappy a at night as soon as they stopped pooing at night ( so basically at a few weeks old) regardless of them waking for night feeds. We did have a problem with leaking once my son became a tummy sleeper but switching to the pampers pull ups for boys ( more absorbent in the front) fixed that.

thats true...i would feel guilty about leaving him in a nappy for such a long time. Sigh....i'll try changing before feeding but he will scream the place down in hunger. I guess i will just have to presevere and he will adjust to it and decide to sleep soon after. Thanks X

Yup :) But otherwise I'd recommend changing him before his feed. It's a long time to be in a soaking nappy....

Why don't you change his napoy before you feed him rather than after? Or, if you are breastfeeding, offer one side, change nappy, then other side....that's what I used to do. Or if all else fails, try the double nappy trick. I found the pampers active pull ups were good for leaks as they design for boys vs girls so hold the wee in the right places.

Ok so here goes.....my little boy is 4 months old and for the life of me i cannot change his nappy at night without waking him up and then he stays awake for a couple of hrsss :( and i need to change him becz his nappy leaks and his clothes are wet and i cant let him continue sleeping like that. im trying to push back his bed time so last night he fed and went to bed at 10 (its late i know), then woke up at 12:30 for a feed, went back to sleep and then woke up again at 4 30 for a feed again. after i fed him i thght i shud change his nappy becz he had been wearing it for the last 7 hours.....and guess what...the minute i unbuttoned his sleepsuit he woke up wide alert!....i hadn't even come close to taking his nappy off....and then i found out it had already leaked so i had to end up changing his clothes too....result was he stayed awake from 4:30 to 6:15 .....i was almost in tears from sleep deprivation :( What do i do? I need some help and advice pls. One thought that came to mind was to put on the plastic underwear cover sort of thing you get in babyshop over his nappy at night but then i dont want him to be uncomfortable does anyone have any other ideas plss Thank u
