I believe to teach in most premium international schools to teach post age 5 you will need a degree, and if it's not a degree with QTS (qualified teacher status) you will need a PGCE - to teach secondary your degree needs to be in the subject you intend to teach, I understand this is a KHDA requirement - however some non premium schools may not require this standard of qualification. GEMS do have a PGCE programme Good luck with your studies x KHDA are clamping down and are not approving non qualified teachers if appointed into a teaching role, schools are getting quite tightly scrutinised, and with the eye watering fees some of us are paying, rightly so! If I'm paying top dollar I want top qualified teachers

A friend who has a Bachelor of Marketing and a CELTA cert wants to teach here but has been told needs a teaching degree. She is currently teaching at a Kindergarten in Seoul, which accepts the CELTA. She was a nanny for Etihad as well so friends in the area, but alas no work
