Use almond macaroons instead .. or some biscotti and add some almond essence

I don't think the biscuits have alcohol in them, just almonds. The alcohol is Amaretto di Saronno, which is different. I saw the biccies in the Italian section of Galeries Lafayette's grocery area on Christmas Eve. Darned expensive, too.

Think I Seen them in marks and Spencer's in Dubai mall a few weeks back. Alternatively choitrams have almond biscuits which I used for a cheesecake base and they were Ok. Tesco sell them in uk, so maybe someone can get them for you and bring them back.

I was looking for these a few weeks back. In Carluccios they told me that because they have alcohol in (amaretto liqueur) they cannot import them. I would love to get some though so if anyone sees any please post where!

Possibly in Spinney's or Carluccio's in Marina Mall. edited by amelia on 27/12/2011

Amaretti Biscuits are small italian biscuits made out of egg white and almond flavour. They have a strong distinct flavour of Almonds. If you cant get them then I would use a little almond essence to get the same flavour
