Hello Ladies!

We're moving to Dubai soon and have come across some nice-looking properties on the internet that are located in Festival City.

I've never visited the area and can't find much written about it in this forum so was wondering whether any of you would kindly share your thoughts?

Thanks in advance :)

We used to live there, but DH company made us all move to a compound !!! YUCK ! Al Badia is fantastic. Schools, Health Club, Golf Club , Spinneys ( supermarket ) Chemist, Hairdresser and of course and short drive or walk ( Winter ) to Festival City. Driving is my pet hate here but it's so easy to get into and out of , unlike some communities that you can take 30 min each morning. Mirdiff City Centre ( a better shopping centre ) is a quick 5 min drive away. No noise from the airport as aircraft come over Mirdiff. The rents have gone up considerably since we left but worth it as the trees and greenery is so nice to be around unlike some other areas here. You will enjoy the coolness brought by them. Then again depends where your children ( if any ) go to school or where your husband works.

Hi although I don't live in Festival City myself, I do have some friends that live there and they love it. The mall there is lovely and its easy access to the airport and downtown Dubai. To be honest it is quite difficult to get proper opinions as so many people want different things - I love where I live but I know loads of people that hate it. Maybe write a list of things that are important to you to be near ie work, schools, shops, metro etc and then see if anywhere is a close fit. The main thing is to see where you and/or your husband are working and whether you will need schooling for children. It would be a complete pain to live there if you have to trek to the other side of Dubai each morning. Good luck with your move.
