I sponsor my husband; this was done via my employer and my marriage certificate was attested back in the UK by the UAE Embassy. I'm fairly sure what your documents have to be attested in the country in which they were issued, so if your marriage certificate is a UK one, then this will have to be done in the UK, likewise his passport. My DH doesn't work here although he does do his UK work remotely from home (this is legal, and was checked out by my Employers's Government Affairs Department and external legal advisors).

Hi ayada, I'm sponsoring my DH here. I came with a good proposal in january and I'm not a doctor, engineer or anything like that. My company said that in Dubai the salary matters more than your job description and most of the ladies can get the sponsorship without a problem. They also said that the law here changes a lot, but most of the time it became more flexible. What the person in the company said is that sometimes it will depend on which is the country you come from, as they were denying some sponsorings for Canadian ladies, but it had nothing to do with being a woman or not, but with the problem with Canada. The only problem so far for me is that my husband could not find a job, but no issue in the sponsoring. Regards

hi ladies, am planning on sponsoring my DH thru my work. I am not a doctor or engineer but my salary is above AED 10K - are any of you ladies sponsoring your hubbys? What has been your experience? We have our wedding certificate attested from back home but not locally attested here yet - any idea what docs are required?
