Sorry but I'm getting a bit curious how often you people have to eat? If you have a proper breakfast / lunch; cannot you survive lets say 5hrs without eating? Ok, drinking for example water in between. I think it would be quite easy to snack something in the malls, like nuts, banana, juice… all of these you can bring with you or buy from the supermarket. Always you can go to the ladies room, fitting room, or even to cinema… I think its not a big problem that every year in the UAE we have a few weeks when you cannot have hot meal in the shopping malls during daytime - ok, and no coffee either but maybe that's more social aspect.

I think most McD's are open -- not drive thru's though. They keep a very low profile and lightnig and you can walk in and get food. I think the one at the gas station beside Ibn Battuta is open during the day.

went 2 days ago, no food being sold to eat in mall only take out. eat in car discretly obscure place, without being seen or in a locked toilet. borders still open and allowed to sell books. starbucks curtained off not for eating or drinking but to prevent people seeing any food or drink as they pass by. ! they said no food or drink to take away or eat in but to stop anyone seeing anything to eat or drink. mall dead as a dodo as is mcc and dubai mall.

You could munch in your car... i'd prefer that to the toilets any day. That would be a no no as well as against the law :(

Was there on Friday and Borders definitely still open. There were a couple of stalls in the food court still serving - but takeaway only. The ones I noticed were Subway, MacDonalds, Zest Salads & London Fish & Chips. Probably a couple of others also. As Cornish Pixie says, though, I'd have thought the Movenpick would have something open to sit down.

Borders is still there i went last week around 4, and there were ppl sitting in food court, what i saw as passed by, Charley's was serving. and there were half curtains in Starbucks, and looked like ppl r sitting inside. better to call the ibn battuta mall management and ask what's open and what's not

All the food courts/restaurants in Ibn Bat are closed BUT I am certain that the Movenpick Hotel The Gate will have some outlets serving food.
