Aw, you're too kind. ;) Maybe not all of them, but your top five favorites... I saw a good movie last night. It was Town, or The Town, I don't know which. Ben Aflack is in it. If you take out the car chases and ridiculous shootout scenes it's watchable.

The Airlines are constantly juggling equipment due to weather and maintenance issues so they probably couldn't even answer that.... and quite frankly I'm surprised you thought [b'>random housewives[/b'> could. Seriously?? Wow, thats just lovely

'Random housewives'. Now there's a welcoming phrase to brighten my morning. Not. The reason I asked is because -- after exhaustive searching -- I couldn't find any information on the 'Net. I thought -- since a lot of people do fly to London Heathrow at this time of year -- that someone might know whether upgraded planes were being used on this particular service. It's not exactly a bolt out of left field to ask, to be honest. Besides, I've seen far sillier topics launched in this parish. Apologies if my shot in the dark took several minutes out of your day. :) The Airlines are constantly juggling equipment due to weather and maintenance issues so they probably couldn't even answer that....

Does anyone know whether the Middle East sector is using the 'new' 777s for this leg? Am debating whether to take DVDs and other technology with me [the new refits allow you to play your own and plug your iPad into the console'> or not. And I'd kinda like to know whether I'm going to be on a nicer plane. :D The Airlines are constantly juggling equipment due to weather and maintenance issues so they probably couldn't even answer that.... and quite frankly I'm surprised you thought random housewives could.

Hi WaxMuch I flew DXB-LHR with BA last week and just returned to DXB this morning from LHR (*insert yawning smiley*!!) Both flights were on a 777 and to be honest, the in-flight entertainment was pretty shocking! My screen on the way to Heathrow was black & white, the films started about 40 mins into the flight (no announcement to advise starting) and all films ran at the same time so you couldnt pick yourself when you wanted to start watching! Also if you missed it starting, you couldnt just rewind and start again as there was no remote control, just the channel/volume buttons on your armrest. This meant you had to wait for the next lot of films to start 2-3 hours later! I ended up sitting listening to my ipod for 3/4 of the journey as there was nothing else to do. On the way back this morning, the entertainment system was the exact same but was at least in colour this time! Hope this helps you decide! Ah! I'm already booked so no changing things now! :D I've heard BA are pretty shocking in terms of inflight entertainment which is why I hoped I might be on one of the upgraded planes. At least flying back I'm on the 'night' service so will hopefully sleep the whole way after some bubbles of course. ;) Thanks for your help, guys. muurtje: there are a few websites which give info about seats etc [seatguru, seatplanner, flatbed.com etc'> but it doesn't help when you know you're flying a 777 but aren't told -- when booking -- whether it's an old or upgraded version. I've been drooling over the new planes though so cross fingers I'm hit by the luck fairy next week. :D

One of the EW ladies posted this website once and I think it's great. Gives you all the info you need about seats, entertainment systems etc. Unfortunately it doesn't make flying more enjoyable :(

agree with Alison_T, I also found the seat space smaller, and felt like a sandwich and I a petite person.

I flew BA last week to and from LHR for the first time in 5 years using the last of my BA air miles. DXB to LHR was on a 777 and it did have the new entertainment system. Coming back it was a 747. I have to say that, in my opinion, BA has really gone downhill for service. The food and service was terrible in both directions. I hope you have a better experience.
