you are not allowed to bring in Wine. however you can put food , if they wont get spoiled in heat. My DH is local and when we moved back to dubai from US i have packed some food in the container ( some cereals for DS and some canned food ) and had few in our luggage

If you are shipping this time of year, your container will get very hot. Prolonged exposure to heat in a closed metal space will likely turn your olive oil rancid by the time it's delivered to your new place, which can take several months. Pass all your food to your good friends.

If your shipping company has advised you not to, then don't. The last thing you want is your shipment held up for weeks on end in port. And besides, your artisan jams will melt in one big putrified gloopy mess.

Don't take the risk of bringing wine. Your shipment could be held up for weeks if discovered. The other items I packed myself and listed the box as kitchen supplies.

Check with your shipping company they have a list of items that can or cannot be shipped to a country. When our friends left for new Zealand the movers came for packing with a list and they left behind all things not allowed. Food, outdoor stuff etc

The shipping co. will be at my place soon to pack some items to be shipped to Dubai! I have a few bottle of wines, quality olive oils, jams and some spices that i was planning to put in the shipment! Just heard from my husband that we cant do it as against the rules etc... Can someone tell me how seriouse that could be? Apart from the temperature issue, what could happen if I have them packed in my shipment (packed either by me or the shipping co.)? Thank you
