i think i read somewhere that if there's an accident, and if God forbid a child dies and was not in a car seat, the parent (driver) will be charged for attempted murder...

No, the law most definitly is NOT in. A lot of talk and a lot of 'recommendations' which the media (and I) were very confused about and took as law but it's not I'm afraid. Thanks for clarifying that Redlesley. Hopefully lots of people are 'confused' and now buckle up thinking that it is legal :)) I'm not convinced but I like your thinking! BTW - I'm giving away a car seat on the FB page as soon as I reach 2200 fans so please like the page if you haven't already done so https://www.facebook.com/BuckleUpInTheBack :)

But they just introduced the car seat law 2 months ago right? Thats what I thought...there was a lot about it in the papers before the Summer and I understood it was now a legal requirement to have all children securely strapped in car seats in the back. ??

...we saw twice now a car with loads of kids standing and stuff and the police car in the next lane who dont do nothing!! Or the police smiling and waving at the cute kids hanging out of the sunroof on SZR. Hats off to you (again) Redlesley!

what was more frustrating is seeing the "buckle up at the back" sticker on the cars and yet their kids were standing and jumping around whilst they drove!! we saw twice now a car with loads of kids standing and stuff and the police car in the next lane who dont do nothing!! Yep, it's very upsetting when I hear things like this. As for the police, well, as the law is at the moment, nothing is being broken so they do nothing

What gets me frustrated is regardless of law or no law, education or no education re the safety aspect, we ALL see the results of horrific car accidents here, should it not be common sense for them (the people who don't) to want to buckle up? Anyway.............. Great job you're doing Redlesley!!! Yes, I agree. I strongly believe in the 3 pronged approach, 1). Have the law introduced to make seat belts compulsory 2). Have the law enforced properly and continually 3). Have continued education regarding seat belts and car seats This is not a 6 month campaign, it's a change for life They need to do a feature on you in the Mother, Baby, Child Magazine! ;)

There has been a lot of discussion lately but the law has not changed. Children under 10 should be in the back but there are [b'>no[/b'> laws to buckle up in the back. Front passengers have to wear a seatbelt. I am trying to educate children and parents on the reasons behind the use of seat belts and car seats. Do please join the campaign on the Facebook page Buckle Up In The Back Dubai or look at the website www.buckleupintheback.com. Together we can make a difference :)

I don't know for sure. But I am a "fan" of the facebook group called "Buckle up in the back Dubai" and I am sure you can find lots of info on there. Unfortuantely, I think there are few car seat laws here in the UAE. Hopefully it will change soon.
