I'm looking for recommendations for tried and tested doctors for Rhinoplasty. I want to have the surgery in the next couple of weeks, but its difficult to find a good doctor when each one will charge you AED 400 for just the consultation - in the UK your first consultation is free so you can meet the doctor.... does anyone have any recommendations?

Sorry Shunnar Clinic. But seriously what rubbish!!! I bet they can't do it. They do botox and fillers and breasts but the nose is changing your natural look??? Ummmm what about everything else? I am sorry but rubbish like this acutally makes me angry. Such an insult to peoiple's intelligence! Maybe she is just too cautious to do it incase it goes wrong, you can hide your breasts to a certain extent if it went wrong but not your hooter! Rhinoplasty is an art, if you don't have it you don't have it. A Dr. needs to be able to know what will look good on someone's face shape, bone structure etc. Breasts are just a size/frame issue. Hence why Rhinoplasty is it one of the most expensive cosmetic surgeries, and it is always best to get it right first time. If it is botched, you can never go back and it is more difficult to correct as the nasal structure is weakened. VEry smart reply.. you stole the words from my mouth (an arabic say).. 100% agree... Nose jobs are ART.. its not stetching stuf togther, it crafting, you need an artist.. usually here inthe states, Dr. who performs nose jobs dont do anythign else.... Its plain STUIPD to say she doesnt want to change the natural look, when her job is changing natural looks.. thats what she does for living... just say, this is not my area of expertise.. period... good luck finding someone.. I want to do a Tummy tuck, and I will consider her b/c she has such great reviewes for tummies and breasts.... edited by amalwaleed on 15/08/2011

Have you considered going abroad for your surgery? Maybe China or Thailand. For example, Thailand has a much longer history of being a cosmetic surgery destination for medical tourists. They are very skilled and experienced. You can have the surgery in China at the best medical universities in the country. The equivalent of a Harvard Med or Yale Med. Anyways, I, and the other people I know who've gone there, were really happy with the results. All you need is about a week off. The doctors and nurses speak English, and the facilities were state of the art. It was a bit more expensive compared to other local options, but still really cheap by western standards. It's around 3,000 USD. Anyways, if you want more information about my experience, you can PM me.

I think Dr. Kayle can still be contacted through Manchester Clinic, as that is where I had my initial consultation, but he also has his own practice in DHCC and that is where I had my follow up appointments (Majestic Aesthetic, I think). Dr Khan also has his own clinc but I can't remember what it was called. Make sure you see lots of the before and after shots of anyone you see. One thing I didn't like about Dr. Khan was that he vas very keen on 'minor' changes and just slightly changing this and that, well that might be fine for some people but that was not what I wanted at all. For 26k I wanted a whole new 'Barbie' nose ;) and I wanted to get it right first time. When I first saw Dr Kayle, he asked me what my issues were, so I told him and then showed me what he could get for me, and it was exactly what I wanted. That sounds great - exactly what I need. I definitely don't want to have to have more than one operation, its a big enough deal as it is. Thank you.

Although the consultations are expensive here, it is worth going to 2/3 doctors to compare and see who you are most comfortable with. Another one to add to your list to check out is Dr Tahir. Just make sure you research which ever doctor you choose, ask them if they have any past patients who you can contact, and also look at their portfolio. A friend of mine had surgery with Dr Tahir and was very happy with him, he asked her afterwards if she would be willing to have her name on the patients list for other patients to contact her if they were considering the same surgery, which she was happy to do so, and he didn't ask her what she'd say or anything just if she was OK with him putting other patients in contact. Thanks, I was given another recommendatiion for Dr Tahir from someone else and I did give him a call actually, so its good to hear another recommendation about him. You're right I should go and see at least three to see who I feel most confortable with.

And I'd like to see the nose of the lady who didn't agree with it - its easy to say that when you have a lovely nose yourself! So where does Dr Kayle practice, how do I look him/her up? I've heard a lot a bout Dr Khan - I've had several recommendations - where does he practice? Its good to talk to someone who has done it.

Al Shunnar don't do rhinoplasty as I they were on my list of Drs to see before I went ahead. I had rhinoplasty around 4 months ago with Dr Dany Kayle, and have been very pleased with the outcome. I saw both Dr. Khan, and Dr. Kayle and was not impressed with Khan at all. Bit negative, telling me not to get my hopes up and he couldn't work miracles, so be realistic with my expectations, which is all well and good to make sure people know this, but don't harp on about what you can't do, and then I was told the problem wasn't my nose but my cheeks!!? But everyone is different so I do recommend going for a consultation with a few so you get the person right for you. I think Dr Khan's initial consultation charge was 500 dhs, and Dr. Kayle didn't charge one, for the cost of the procedure there wasn't much difference - 26k and 24k. Good luck, it's the best money I've spent :)

Dr Al Shunnar doesnt do rhinoplasty. She says she doesnt agree with it. Cant remember why though, something to do with it changing the natural look of your face or something. She quite happily enlarged my breasts and didnt seem to have an issue with that though!

I have heard very good things about Al Shunnar on the beach road. I have met the doctor and have had simple procedures with her, I would say do a search and give her a try. US trained and board certified.
