That Sheikh Zayed invited Bahrain and Qatar to join the United Arab Emirates? He persisted for a number of years in this effort.

Has anyone seen Dubai flags for sale anywhere. I've never seen them for sale in the usual places though they'd be easy to make at the tailors. would like to fly them in the run up to the Expo 2020 bid, but failing that the UAE one will do. 63 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! Karama sell them haha

Maybe we should have a "Culture with Crushing Waves" session.;.. Or maybe a pop quiz; see how many EW can answer q about the UAE ;) [b'>Name the 7 Emirates anyone[/b'>? LOL !! before we moved here my husband made us all memorise them - he'd been told that expats sometimes get asked that on arrival !! All the times we've been backwards and forwards and have never been asked...

Dodgy??? You mean they aren't genuine?? Funny so many people know more about dodgy handbags and shopping to facts and history of their host country. What bubble are they living in?

RAK's flag (red rectangle within the white flag) is flown in many places around the emirate.

Did you know that AD was never meant to be the capital for more than 7 years? That an area called Al Karama was supposed to be built, which would be the capital? so instead of flags we should be discussing dodgy handbags ?

The reason people do not know is because it is rarely flown in prominent places (Dubai Flag) Is it not common sense that they would have separate flags; as per England, Wales etc - bearing in mind the country is called [b'>United [/b'> Arab [b'>Emirates [/b'> not really; most people just know "Dubai", there was a guy interviewed on some Dubai channel last night saying "Dubai is the most international country in this Emirates"
