Where is the best place to go to see Diwali lights and celebrations?

I read in the paper today that there are lights in Karama and Bur Dubai but I'm not overly familiar with those areas, any specific streets I should head for.?

Thanks.

No ...4 or 5 days actually. But today (the 3rd) is the main shebang! :)

Thanks, will head down to the Creek tonight - I hate people fooling around with fireworks though!

Lots of buildings around Karama and Bur Dubai are lit up-fireworks are illegal but you will see them being set off in all the carparks and on vacant lots. To enjoy the atmosphere walk along the Creek from around the Saudi embassy right down to the markets to see all the families dressed to the 9s and out celebrating-Meena Bazaar has a great holiday atmosphere just now too

Diwali here are pvt celebrations...untill and unless you have a Diwali theme party organised by some big event management companies. We usually gather with family and frnds for evening prayers , then card games followed by lighting of diyas and dinner...
