I am embarrassed writing this but have to ask, sorry. We are just wondering how you dry your clothes. We are not sure if we will be in a villa or apartment. We have a dryer here and wondering if we should ship it?

We're in an apartment and aren't allowed to dry clothes on the balcony. Just put everything on the clothes rack in the laundry each morning and they are always dry by night time. We do have a drier but only rarely use it to soften the towels.

I have an 'environmentally friendly' airer as well. No crispy dusty clothes either, half hour outside and clothes are dry. Hmmm I may have 'accidentally' left the clothes out a little bit longer than half hour...

yes - unless you want crispy dusty sunbleached clothes. I have an airer on my balcony and have never had dusty, sunbleached, crispy clothes :-) What is an airer? Like a stand? Thats what we had and clothes were dusty and crispy orite!

Never used one since I have lived here, even got maintenance to remove the one we get with our new apartment! Friends with kids find them really useful. We just stick ours on the balcony, shelted part from wind and they are fine, have done so for over 4 years and all good!

Personally, yes I think you do, but it will depend on your space. In the villa we had plenty of room for a dryer and a washing machine, but once we moved to our apartment we didnt, so we now have a washer dryer. What I wouldnt do for a proper clothes line...or a much bigger clothes airer.

Ok while living in an apartment we used to put our clothes out on the line in the balcony. We had missing socks and dusty clothes so I really dont recommend that. We stopped doing that after a week. I cant advise on a villa I'm sure it would be fine to just use a clothing line in your back garden as surely you wont have as much dust as a high rise apartment block but then some villas are in the middle of a construction site so you never know? How about a washer dryer to eliminate any problems? edited by Hugsys on 20/06/2012
