Our landlady has asked us to look for a new pool company to take on 2 x weekly cleaning and lights / electrical mantenance for the pool. Endless problems of time wasting with the current jokers. Please give me your recommendations if you know a company who are professional and can be relied on to do their job in a reasonable time frame. We have just waited 5 weeks for a pool light to be changed!!
Thanks.

for years we used Mak Pools ( and then parent company Silver Fox) but in the last year of contract with them we were not happy about the guy coming to maintain our pool.We told the management many times, pool was dirty, he never checked lights, backup filter, and we had very big problem in the pump/tank room because of that! And to sort out problems we had because of this guy negligence....they were always submitting quotation!!!:\: Since 1,1/2 y. we are with Belhasa, ne never had problems...water is perfect, lights working, filter cleaned, tank working ,jacuzzi always at level, water analysis always regular....and we are paying much less!;)

We use mak pools and have for the last three years or more and are very happy with their service. They converted our pool from a chlorine pool to a non-chlorine pool which suits us very well (skin problems very much alleviated). And, having discovered various problems with our pool (nothing to do with them - they didn't build it) the parent company Silver Fox is currently sorting out all our problems which has pretty much resulted in a rebuild. We thought, initially, that the pool simply need re-tiling. Nope. Once the tiles had been removed, and the skim on which they were laid, this brought to light huge shortcomings in the initial build. The main problem being the wrong ratio of sand to cement which resulted in holes in the actual wall of the pool and the steps into the pool. Needless to say that the original pool contractor has long gone (he never finished the job properly in the first place - walked off the job before it was completed - and if he is still here and I ever see him again I will be on the phone to the police) but mak pools and Silver Fox have been so helpful and their pool engineers have been on hand to explain every step of the re-build and why it was necessary, most of which I have to say was self-evident once we saw what had been uncovered. Perhaps some may find that mak pools maintenance costs are a bit expensive but we've found that you get what you pay for. We noticed that tiles on the bottom of the pool were coming loose (they can be replaced thanks to the wonders of science without having to empty the pool) but it became very obvious that this was happening on a more and more regular basis and it was our maintenance man, having spoken to us, who suggested calling in his boss to discuss sorting out the problem properly. Yes, it's costing us quite a bit to get the problem sorted - as I said, we're pretty much rebuilding the entire pool - but we feel very happy that when this is all done in the next couple of weeks or so we'll have a pool which we and our friends will be able to enjoy for a long time to come.

We use Pools r us, and are very, very happy with them. In our old villa, with a 9 meter pool, they charged 400 a month, now 600 a month, as large pool and seperate jacuzzi, which, according to previous owners, had been extremely difficult to maintain, due to crummy building. pools r Us respond very quickly, and so far have managed to rectify all old faults to our full satisfaction. The fee covers twice weekly visits, with all the chemicals etc. They have web page for contact details

Thank you both. It would be good to have a few names to give to the landlady to follow up. Anyone willing to say how much they pay for twice weekly cleaning?

We've changed recently to Those Pool Guys...and are very happy with them. Pool has never looked as clean and clear as now, they actually mensure chemicals. Our previous pool company, which we inherited from previous tenants, just chucked in chloride and whatever, without ever testing water quality :\: They haven't had to do any electrical work yet, but do seem very knowledgeable. Don't have their number now, but if you google them, you should be able to find their website with contact details.

We used Mak/Mac Pools for a while but, although very good, we found them expensive. We have just changed to Pools and Gardens but they have only had to do 'normal' maintenance so far so I don't know how long it would take them to fix a light etc. www.poolsandgardens.net or you can call Shaiju on 055 517 9850, he speaks very good english.
