A lot of people talk about speeders, but what about the people on the road that drive too slow? That is also a major hazard - in the US, you can get a ticket for going too slow, but not here! Today, I nearly rear ended some guy going 60 on SZR. I was not speeding, just going the speed limit! There ought to be some law about these slow moving drivers!

Sadly it takes someone of note to die before they say anything, like the poor footballer who was killed because he was speeding and using his phone. Only now are they going to implement really tough penalities and the Chief of polcie has spoken out. What happened beforehand? zip!

Someone important just needs to say "Look, do this and this but don't do this otherwise we will have you for it"! Make the rules widely known and easily available and then just go for as near to zero tolerance as you can get. I think the amount of accidents on these roads warrants something to be done or are all the deaths not that important?! edited by Rebecca W on 28/09/2011

Many of those slow drivers are demonstrating "safe driving" while on the cell phone. At least that's what I think when I give them a glance when passing them.

For most of the ppl, driving on SZR is a nerve wrecking experience, better drive slow than kill anyone, n it's just a couple of time they would do that, after driving few time, they start to think it's a racing ground, so let them drive slow till they do.

yep you do get fined... I dont think a lot of people realise. .. I got a ticket for doing 80 on Emirates Road because I had a flat tyre ! and then got another one for stopping on the hard shoulder to change the tyre :( edited by mushypeas on 28/09/2011 That's what the hard shoulder is for!!! Also - what are you doing getting a ticket??? Flirt your way out of it!!! Oh I even turned on the water works but it didnt work !! The best one i have used was "please don't give me a ticket as i have too many already" And it worked!!!!

Slow driving is a real pain especially the ones who are oblivious to other road users! The slow ones in the fast lane really annoys me. Move to the furthest lane on your right if you want to crawl like a turtle! Unless you are trying tomerge onto the road, in which case someone driving super slow is a huge hazard.

I think I've seen signs on some roads here giving 60 as a minimum speed, maybe that applies on the SZR?
