Have you considered hynotherapy? it can work wonders for phobias.
I was thinking of that. I get terrible palpatations at worst and sweaty palms. Ridiculous I know!
LOL! It was worth a try. I sent it to RD, didn't realise I'd sent it to you too. I did the course and it was great but over the years the fear has crept back in.
How far are you flying?
Here I am! Just returned from 40 hours on 9 flights over a period of 3 weeks and 2 days. And yes, I still hate it.
Apparently RR is available, but from only 1 place in Dubai AFAIK (Aroha will know if she's about), I got my Dad to bring me some from the UK.
Before I went to Brazil a few months ago I went to see my GP who prescribed beta blockers which remove the panicky feeling (but not the fear - it's weird) and Xanax which make you quite drowsy and not so edgy. They have the advantage over alcohol of not giving you a hangover and not needing to get up for a wee on the hour, every hour.
ETA I still have the Flying Without Fear booklet I was given on a course years ago scanned on my computer. Do you want me to email it to you?

What a shame, I feel for you. Rescue Remedy would definitely be worth trying. It won't make you sleep, but might assist. It's intended to help with particularly stressful events as opposed to inducing sleep.
me too. me too. Am DREADING flying this weekend. Cant look forward to hols as I know it begins with flight, and can't enjoy hols as dread return.
Also this is a night flight so i spend the first 2 days exhausted as i have sat in terror/eyes open wide for entire journey.
Sandy Dawg!!! Where are you??? :D
I hate flying. Logically I know it's mad but I feel safer on Sz Rd. than up in the air. Does anyone have any 'cures'? I read about Rescue Remedy, will it make me sleep? Tried natural stress relief tablets sedative tablets from Boots that didn't do anything. I don't drink on flights either so that's out. Thanks for any advice.
