Hello, I am planning to move to Dubai in March next year and I have a three year old .We are looking to putting her straight into a big school to make the transition easier for her .

It's difficult enough to get into a good school as it is but even more so mid year!

We were interested in nord Anglia but it's full. Repton has places and so does foremarke . Does anyone have any good or back feedback for both

Many thanks

We looked at every reputable school in Dubai. We ultimately (after wavering, accepting places and changing our minds, getting feedback from everywhere, etc) chose Foremarke. I am very, very happy with the school. My child is happy (most important!) and you really just can't beat the class size. I am also a complainer..or perhaps better terminology, a 'concerned' parent, that likes to speak to the headmaster when I feel it is necessary. I will say on one hand, communication to parents could be better...but I have never had to wait very long for a meeting with him..and he I have always felt 'heard'. Loving this year's teacher is also a huge plus!

My DD is in year one and doing very well, she's also very happy which is key. She loves her enrichment activities and sports too. If you want to ask any questions please pop your e-mail address on. Foremarke is owned by the same group as Repton but they are different schools. My husband has taught in both so I'd like to think I know a little bit about the schools. Please make sure you go and visit lots of schools. Nord Anglia has a great reputation already but you might struggle to get a place. There are lots of good schools now in Dubai, get out there and view a many as possible. You'll get a good feeling when you find the right one for your child. Don't forget to ask lots of questions too and try to view a school when they have an open day because you'll get to talk to other parents and some of the children too. Thank you for your reply! I'm actually seeing repton and foremarke this week so hoping to get a feel for both. I'm waiting to see if I can get my foot into JESS with my husband's work so that fingers crossed is an option . My email address is . please drop me an email so I can ask a few questions, thanks again! OK Great. I've heard lovely things about JESS. Have fun viewing the schools and go with whats right for you and your child. I've just e-mailed you. Feel free to ask away.

Nord Anglia will always be full so you do need a good back up. It very much depends on if you're going to be here a long time or not... Repton is good in early years, but if you're staying a longer time then it's best avoided. Mixed reviews on Foremarke but it is part of Repton group. Kings comments are very difficult to post on here but suffice to say you need to physically visit the place. Jess good. Spaces in great schools are very hard to find and some people to take places at holding schools while on the wait list for a really good one.

I would have a look at other schools as well. Repton and Foremarke are the same company. The best schools in Dubai have waitlists and the not so good schools don't. I would look at Kings or JESS to get a comparison

Thanks for that. It's so difficult to decide what's best and places are limited in schools . We are from the UK but currently live in Saudi Arabia .My daughter is only 3 so don't want an overbearing school but also dont want to chop and change mid years once we've finally moved . We are visiting the school next Sunday and repton as well on the open day. Did you see any other schools before deciding? Sorry for the bombardment of questions!

I meant in a good way! Just seems a little more rigorous than their old school. A focus on mental arithmetic, tables and spellings which I like. Although I was laughing this morning as some of the mums were complaining about the amount of creative work they have so clearly I have that to come too!! My kids are academic but there seems to be a reasonable spread of abilities - I think they don't have any learning support type of thing though. Hope that helps.

Hi there, thanks for your response . Out of interest when you say it's more academic is that in a good way or a bit overbearing?

All very personal but we have just started at Foremarke and having a great experience. I'm finding it more academic than their private school in the UK and very welcoming. Not sure how that will continue as the school grows but we are very happy one week in. Good luck with the move. We are loving being here so far.
