JVT DEWA bills

Can anyone living in a 2 bed villa on JVT give me a rough idea as to how much the average DEWA bill is. We are moving there next week and are having to landscape the property ourselves. I am undecided on real grass or astroturf in view of the very large garden to be landscaped. I am uncertain on whether to pay on average 14,000 dhs to lay astroturf or pay 2,500 dhs to lay real grass. I'm sure I would save a fortune each month in DEWA and re-coup my initial outlay within at least 6 months. I can also sell the astroturf if we were ever to leave. I would be very grateful if any ladies already living in that area can give me any advice so that we can make a decision.

When I worked out the price, even from dragon mart it was still way too expensive for me. I even looked at importing/shipping it in from China and it was too expensive. I think I'm going to have lots of ground spreading plants and a couple of patches of fake grass instead of just grassing the lot.

Whilst out walking the dog the last few days i have noticed the odd advertisement selling on gardens, perhaps worth a look. Our neighbour has the astroturf but said it was better to have it professionally laid otherwise can rise and have to make sure the ground is even etc before putting down. Saw it for 45aed/metre in dragon mart at the H end.

When are you going to put the grass down? Can I come see? I've been thinking about it got a while. Can I ask if your going to do it yourself? I've got only trees around the boarder of the garden at the mo and our bills have been 300 (last month) - 1800 (August)

Just been up to the property to obtain the keys and measure up. Spoke to a neighbour who said that their monthly bills were averaging 3000 - 4000 dhs. I think astroturf it is then. We will make our money back within 3-4 months. Also as we are renting, we can take it with us if we decide to move in the future or even sell it and get some money back.

housing fee is 5% of your rent, and is being charged gradually (not entirely sure why I am not paying it at the moment, I was in my last place, and I had to hand over my lease when I transferred my DEWA) but in last month's bill there was a notice that it was about to be charged; provide details or they would use local rent index or some such, so perhaps they are getting round to more places.

Hi we have a small grassed area outside the back double doors. Our dewa bills are between about 800-2000. 2000 being in the height of the summer. I personally prefer AstroTurf and think it looks better. Hope this helps
