Wow wow wow all positives that's great. I need to look into the playing chess with cars thing. Thanks again. Are the pools clean? And the shared gyms - good too?
Yes very. definately in our block (we were in a complex that had one hotel appartment, so not sure if that made it any better maintained??). Our friends were in another block which was also great though. Gym - basic, but well maintained. So also all common areas - inside and outside. there's lifeguards (open hours) and security on duty - havent seen anyone at the gym (dont take my word for that - prob went twice in 3 years ;)).
Didnt realise quite so many people felt the way i do about the greens :D. Still miss living there after over 3 months of moving out!

I lived in the greens for almost 6 years, till a few months ago when we moved over to the Springs. I LOVED living in the Greens. We spent 3 years in the old greens apartments (Street 6) and 2 years in our own apartment in the Fairways. Agree with everything already said - parking after 6 is hard, but we did as Licorice mentioned - first car home parked on the street, second car used the parking space.
RE shopping with a baby, if you chose one of the tower blocks, they all have a concierge from 6am to 6pm. I used to drive to the front door, unload bags, load bags onto the trolley (like they have in hotels for baggage), bat eyelids at lovely concierge chap who would pop trolley in lift for me and out on my floor while i parked the car in basement and came up with the baby. The security guys are lovely and will do anything to help. You wouldnt have this luxury in the regular Greens apartments though, which i imagine would be harder.
Ive seen the villas in the Golf towers. They are gorgeous and id give my left arm to get on one of those! They look just like a regular terraced villa, and have individual front door and little front gardens that open out onto the pool. Lovely.
Ultimately we left the greens as DD needed her own room and we could get more bang for our buck in the Springs. But i do love the Greens, its a lovely community.
I live in The Greens and absolutely love it- real community feel. Parking is an issue- if I have visitors after 6pm it is hard for them to find somewhere to park. If one car is getting home earlier than that you would be ok and use the apartment parking for the later arriving car.
There are duplex apartments next to Golf Towers along the lake- the do look lovely! If not you may be thinking of the the groud floor courtyard apartments which have a large yard and a gate to get out to the swimming pool and community facilities- some of these apartments are lovely! I wish I had a ground floor one!
Try and get a non- roadside apartment if you can- the inner ones have a nicer view and feel imo.
Everything you need is here and within walking distance too! Great for keeping fit and active! I hardly use my car these days!
Never smelt any "whiffs" but it depends on your neighbours and what they are cooking I suppose!! Maybe visit around dinner time to double check!
I would highly recommend living here- good luck with your search!
Ok.....going to ask a really stupid question - but how do you manage bringing up your weekly shopping?? Many trips to the basement and back? Any of you do this with a baby?

If I'm on my own, I park the car next to the lift entrance in the carpark, unload, park the car, and then straight up in the lift. Never had any problem. And if you shop in Choitrams in the Greens, I often see the men from the shops wheeling people's shopping trolleys back to their flats for them.
Hi
there a few villas in the Golf Towers complex overlooking the pool area to the front and the golf course at the rear.I think they have 2 parking spaces & 4 bedrooms.
Ahh thanks so much for this. Mmmmm got a bit excited with the 'villa appt' thinking they would have own enterance. I guess if you still have to park and ride up from the basement in the lift, it doesn't matter what floor you choose.

N.Kaye... We lived in the greens for 3 years - still own there and have a tenant in. its great. never had a problem with smells through the vent that i know of (jst once had a neighbour leave something dodgy in the garbage room rather than chuck down the chute and it got a bit strong since it was friday) :\:. We were on the second floor.
to the best of my knowledge, there are no villas in phase 1, 2 or 3 (thats street 1-6 and the perpendicular road 7 with the exception of the new higher rise near the school). Maybe the new building has them? or maybe what people are talking about are the larger, enclosed courtyard type 'balconies' on the ground floor that offer direct access to the pool/common areas. These do not offer direct access (as an entrance) to the apartments though since they are french windows with internal locks and also open from a secure internal area that you would not be able to access unless you were coming up from the basement (in which case, it would actually be more complicated to access from the outside than in). Also there appartments are exactly the same size and layout as the ones on higher floors. just a larger outside space.
Parking could be a problem in the late evenings depending on which street (obviously the ones closer to the community centre and the other stand alone coffee shops etc can get more crowded). Each appartment has only one allocated parking slot as far as im aware. and security is aware of ur allocated slot and quite strict so you could get fined if you park unauthourised. having said that, we never really faced a problem because you only tended to take one car out mostly post work anyway and even when we took both, we found a space somewhere in a few mins. no more difficult than a mall on a weekday - there are spaces, they just might not be the closest.
Hi,
I live in the greens on street 5 in a 2 bedroom on ground floor.
It has a very huge backyard.
We do smell food from our neighbors which bothers us.
We only get one parking space, and we face problems at late evening or weekends finding a parking space outside.
Other than that i live it here. Soo peaceful and quiet.
Hi N.Kaye - I'm in an apartment in Street 2, which was the first phase built, so can only comment on those (haven't seen an 'villas' but not to say they don't exist, maybe in the newer areas of the Greens?). Never had any problem with neighbours cooking (or other!) smells in the 6 years we've been there. As far as car parking is concerned, 2 beds get one allocated u/g space, but some of the larger apartments have 2 and 3 spaces. We have one space and 2 cars, but we rent a space from a neighbour who has a spare one for peppercorn rent, and to be honest, there's generally spare slots in the road too when I come home from work, so have never had a problem.
ETA: Love the area - have moved within the Greens but didn't want to move out of it. Like the fact that even during the summer you can walk to the shops for a pint of milk!

Hello
I live at the Greens and have seen some ground floor apartments that have huge patio windows that lead to the paths at the back of the greens. I looked at one but as a single woman didnt feel very safe living there. I live in Turia next to the Greens and am on the ground floor ( it is raised up off the road though) and have an enormous terrace balcony. I don't get any cooking smells but the drains do tend to whiff a bit in the bathroom during the Summer months. One bedroom equals one parking space although there are many empty in my building. It is always worth speaking to the landlord with regards to that. Lovely area and very quiet, lots of kids on bikes and dog walkers which is nice :-)
Just a few random questions :-
I heard some of the appartment blocks have what was described as 'villas' in the ground floor. Any info on this, I'm guessing this means just direct entrance. If so, which buildings have these?
Are there any issues with 'whiffs' coming in from neighbours cooking through the vents?
And parking......what's the deal/solution if you have two cars? Am I correct to understand that most apartments come with only one car park.
Any other general opinions welcome :D
