Basically you still pay her monthly pay as normal (as although she is away for a month, it's paid leave as you/I would have), so if you pay on the 7th of every month, then you pay 7th May, and 7th June as normal. If she is away on the 7th June then she will probably want the full salary before she goes. Talk to her - might be a case she will take half and have half when she returns, so has some money left over when she is back.
Does that make sense?
I'm confused and I'm hoping someone can help clarify the situation with regards to the money I owe my maid...
she has been with us for the past three years... and this is a summary of the money we have paid her so far...
contract start date was May 7th 2011... she has been paid on the 7th of every month thereafter her monthly agreed salary
on May 7th 2012, I paid her the monthly salary for April plus an extra month's salary plus compensation for her flight ticket home (as she chose not to take her holiday)... then june 7th 2012 I paid her the agreed monthly salary again... and continued to do so
on May 7th 2013, I paid her the monthly salary for April plus an extra month's salary plus compensation for her flight ticket home (as she again chose not to take her holiday)... then june 7th 2013 I paid her the agreed monthly salary again... and continued to do so
this year (next week)... I will need to pay her the monthly salary for April... but she has decided to take her annual leave this year (from june 7th to july 10th)... but I'm not sure how much to pay her next week... do I only pay her the April salary? or should I pay the 13th month salary? and what happens in June? do I pay her for her May services? as well as (in advance for her leave period?)
so confusing!!! apologies for the rant... but I'm kinda clueless about it... and we never had to worry about this as she hasn't travelled out of the country so far and this is our first experience with a maid
