Has anyone seen this at any supermarket. When I lived in the UK you could buy fresh naan, frozen and part cooked and just finish them off. I haven't seen them here. I can see loads of Roti, chapati etc but not naan.

I guess I could get some at the Indian Restaurant but we don't have one close to us and I'd like to get some that I can cook freshly. Failing this, anyone have a good recipe I can cook myself (I don't have a tandoor).

Thanks in advance

I love naan bread and was fed up trying to find a decent one from the shops. I found this recipe and it is the best naan bread I have ever made. Well worth a try and it must be fool proof because it worked for me perfectly :D http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/534227

Hi all, just reporting back. I went to LuLu's at the Arabian Centre, none in the freezers (loads of pathia, paratha, chappatis, etc etc) however, they make fresh naan after 11am ... sadly I was there at 8. I made some up myself, thanks Ping Posh and Genie, they turned out ok, but not the fluffy ones I was hoping, although guests enjoyed them. Will buy a batch next time I'm in Lulu's and freeze them.

I bought a pack of 4 from the frozen section of HyperPanda, Festival City. You can get plain, garlic, tandoori and chilli flavours. The brand is called 'Family' which is a bit strange but there you go...I wet a piece of baking parchment, wrap the naans in it and pop it in the oven. It's nothing like you get in the UK but it's the best I can find.

The only place I have ever found it is in Lulu Al Barsha.....it is in the aisle just before the deli marked something like 'US/UK imports.' if you are facing the back of Lulu it is at the end of that aisle on the left hand side. I have found it there almost every time I have gone so hopefully they will have it. I still buy loads and freeze it each time just in case of the typical Dubai 'now you've seen it, now it's gone.' edited by Catawba KSE on 15/05/2012

This one by Anjum Anand is really good and is cooked under the grill. It only takes about 30mins from start to finish so not sure why the site says it takes 1-2 hours preperation time! http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/naan_86626

I have used this recipe from allrecipes a few times and it was always very good. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/naan/Detail.aspx I left out the garlic and only used a Tablespoon of sugar, I also followed another users comment and added 1/2 tsp. of baking soda and covered the naan with a lid while cooking.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the frozen ones at the Barsha Lulu or at a Choithram's. Brills I will venture there tomorrow, haven't been to LuLu's for a few weeks, thanks Stovetop :)
